Iām not dead!
Iāve actually been doing pretty well with running. Iām consistently running at least 2-3 miles every other day (or at least 3 days a week) and Iām actually really enjoying it. Iāve actually enjoyed it so much that I ... wait for it...SIGNED MYSELF UP FOR A HALF MARATHON IN SEPTEMBER.Ā YOU GUYS. OMGAH. THIS IS HAPPENING.Ā I didnāt lose much weight last week (163) but I actually lost some inches. I think Iām gaining some muscle which is awesome! I fit into the next size down for pants, (12) and Iām feeling much more fit.Ā Funny story though. I fell down the stairs and broke my tailbone >.< Oddly enough, I can run without much issue (it stings a little but not like Iām going to die.) but sitting down, lying on my back, any of that. It freaking blows. BLOWS.Ā So weāll see how that affects my life.Ā

Iām happy to say Iām 12 pounds lighter, but Iām also 10 times more paranoid about every thing I put into my body. Now that I am officially a 30-something itās time to let childish things go and sayĀ ābon voyageā to some of the recipes I mastered in my 20s.Ā

Discovered in my mid-20s, this creamy beauty came from Giada De Laurentiisās Everyday ItalianĀ on the Food Network. This once-favorite recipe feeds four and comes in at a whoppingĀ 794 calories per serving. Goodnight, sweet prince.
Hearty Beef Stew
In the winter this is a truly classy number. It that incorporates beef andĀ some delicious pancetta, but is off limits now that Iāve clocked the calories. A big bowl of this stew will run you 880 of them.Ā
Salmon-Kale Risotto
What I used to consider a healthy meal is now a no-no. 550 calories per serving is one thing, but with added cheese (I canāt help myself) it becomes a new ballgame.Ā
Three-Herb Chicken & Mushrooms
Fancy andĀ creamy, this was once a great date-night dish. But although it screams, āhey boy, Iām hella gourmet,ā 757 calories is a lot to pack in for a chicken thigh. Bonus points: Iām married now.Ā
Chicken-Fried Steak
OK, so I never actuallyĀ ācookedā this one, but itās getting memorialized in this post since itās a beloved brunch staple of mine. 661 calories just for the meat on this one... I guess itās just poached eggs and wheat toast from now on, but it has been a good run.Ā
