I meanā¦ kinda?? CatsVDogs is much more of an AU, and Healing Rust is sort of a canon continuation from the end of V9
In CatsVDogs their relationship (friendship) also starts MUCH earlier in Jauneās time living in the Ever After (within the first decade or so). Also, ya know, CC gets turned into a āhumanā pretty early on, thatās why the romantic feelings blossomed
In Healing Rust the Cat remains a Cat, there is no romance (as you mentioned), and Jaune and the Cat only really started being friends about two decades in. It also focuses a LOT more, almost exclusively in fact, on Jauneās time healing in Vacuo (although I admit there hasnāt been a lot of healing lol). The Journals fic is MOSTLY for my own reference and context, cause the FOCUS is the healing after

Also fun fact, I made an AU of my own AU (CVD) that Iāve been calling the Sunshine AU. Might post stuff about it if I ever get around to organizing my thoughts. But you know youāre going off the rails when you start making AUs of your own content
