As someone with schizophrenia, I love Kinger and the way he’s portrayed. I see myself in him and it’s so so very comforting and validating to see Pomni and Ragatha treat him the way they do. They know he’s in there. They respect him. Even when he babbles, they are patient and take him seriously and don’t dwell on his lack of making sense. They see him as another human being with his own worth. Lucid or not

it’s just dawning on me now that my schizophrenia (literally just diagnosed, it’s not a label i’m used to in the slightest) has been a disability for me. i’ve been disabled. the psychosis is in remission so im unsure if im disabled currently…

i knew schizophrenia was a disability, i just… couldn’t fathom that mine is, too.

#this is all so much more distressing than i would expect from myself #i. genuinely can’t tell if im disabled or not #i don’t know #and god i just #i had it so early onset #like nine years old i was having delusions that never stopped and they’re still bothering me now…#recontextualizing my memories with this label is just …?#i don’t know. i’m not used to it yet it doesn’t feel like me #like i’m not allowed this or something #am i severely mentally ill and have i known this for years? yes. am i allowed this accurate diagnosis that i’ve so longed for and needed?#hhh #i just can’t believe it #it makes 100% sense but it’s just #i’m in emotional shock i guess.#homemade #schizophrenia #i was acting strange and less bubbly at work andy coworkers noticed #asked me if i was okay #and for the past half hour i’ve been crying scrolling through the schizophrenia tag #absorbing and processing and recontextualizing #i never process things this slowly. with so much difficulty #and you know what i think part of the reason if because of my schizophrenic symptoms LOL the thoughts have a habit of slipping away.#take this post as is i guess #update: now that this post has been getting notes i know that i am disabled and will always be #head talk
