I love this art because we rarely see modern renditions of Jasmine wearing a type of covering for her hair, although the story is set in a middle-eastern country, so she should be wearing one.
Although in the time the story was set most royalty was not forced to wear coverings for their hair, most modern renditions of jasmine do not portray her as royalty, just a very rich girl, and even then, sometimes she’s just a regular person.
Even if she was depicted as royalty in a modern rendition, she would probably still have to wear a head covering.
And even if she did live in America, with a family history like that she would probably be part of a family that would wear coverings in public.
Please feel free to correct me or add anything on.
Local NB manages to buy a head scarf that actually fits. Public shook. More at 11
But really though I saw this post about demi-girl pride day so I thought why not...?
