I had a big day yesterday. I received both the Queen's Undine and the King's Award of Excellence for my work as Head Retainer (work made easy by the incredible people who volunteer to Retain in the first place). My scrolls are Works of Art and incredibly stunning, as are the medallions.
THE SCRIBE PUT ME ON A BATTLE YORKIE - I CANNOT!!
But they weren't all I received. At one point in the afternoon a young lady came up to me and said simply, "I drew you," and handed me the picture. I don't know who she is, but that gesture and the caption on the drawing mean just as much to me as my scrolls. So I'm framing it along with them, and will proudly display it as a reminder that kindness abounds in our Kingdom and world. How often do you get such a beautiful portrait as a gift?
