Sometimes I have brainworms about what if's with DAI. Like what would have happened is Shae never became the inquisitor? Would he and Dorian have ever met? I mean, I guess you could somehow spin it, but most likely not. Because I think if the conclave didn't happen, Shae would never have any reason to leave his clan and would most likely just end up with a nice dalish girl or boy who had enough determination to make it clear to Shae that they were interested in him. Even though the clan travels and there is a slight chance for them randomly meeting since Dorian would still be in Ferelden, I don't see Shae ever talking with him because he was very wary of Dorian in the beginning if DAI anyways, due to his preconceptions about Tevinter mages. So I guess they are not the "fated to be together in every universe" type of a deal, but that's ok.

He flounders, gesturing in the air with his fork, "It's, uh, the team. A tradition. They always-" Billy cuts him off, "They don't even like you anymore." "And you think they like you?" Steve shoots back, instantly defensive, "They stuck you with me, remember. We're both the butt of this particular joke." Billy's mouth opens. Closes. His fist clenches around his fork and then he lets it clatter to the table. But Steve isn't done. Billy opened this particular can of worms. He can deal with the wiggliest of the fuckers.
