@hcretics sent: 'I feared I'd never get to hold you again' — Benezia.
Words that play at the back of her mind, insist on being repeated; yet Liara is at a standstill—little reaction permitted from her body. Her throat is dry, her mind ailed by the memory of blurs and blood—how Benezia had been granted death at the hands of her, and Commander Shepard. It cannot be. It is a wave of denial that insists on existence—the doubt of her mother surviving the impact of a bullet; Benezia’s words continue to send shivers up her spin—but the hopeful youth recollects one thing: I will see you again, with the dawn.
It was—is a cruel fate—Liara's mind firing an attempt at a warning, and the Asari is prompted to push away—coming face-to-face with the woman that boldly proclaims herself as Benezia. Despite the child of her heart, Liara faces her counterpart with screaming—no matter how much she yearns to accept it. I watched her die. It is repeated, vocally, brazen in such declaration—bold to acknowledge that Benezia, was dead. “I saw you die.” That memory, holds much more, than the passing of her mother—how she held the lifeless corpse against her small form, eyes brimmed with tears; the ugly sobbing, armour coated with sanguine fluid, her blood, and Benezia’s blood. How Shepard had to ease the oncoming of grief, just for the sake of escaping—how Liara felt the construction of a cage, to protect her feelings, her own heart from the pain that soon followed.
“They would not let us, take you,” Liara refers to Benezia’s body—left to extinguish on Noveria. She does not know the truth of it, only assertive words that offered condolences and promises of proper rites—but not this, not this. Part of Liara bears shame; knowing how she should have taken Benezia back to Thessia, to host a proper vigil—but how? She turned away from the planet, from its people, and above all her mother. With her own choices made, Liara decided to see this mission through—to seek the retribution of Saren, not only for her mother, but for the entire Galaxy.
“How can this be you—I do not understand.” But is Liara willing to?
❝ Wow, stuff like that really makes me regret I didn’t take more archeology classes at university. But I guess that would have just been another reason for being called weird. Still, this is amazing have you ever seen something so awesome? ❞ She’s doing it again, completely ignoring the fact that she doesn’t even know the people around her and just assuming they would be interested in a conversation. Hard to believe that anyone would ever take her serious and reply. While some of the people begin to leave, Barbara’s smile already losing some of its brightness, the blonde lowers her gaze a little, quietly apologizing already. As if anyone would care anyway.

@hcretics said: ‘ who did this? ’ - demeter for persephone for some angst
persephone hadn’t discussed the incident with anyone but hades, and she honestly didn’t intend to change that. she would rather keep it locked away forever, a memory cast into the lethe to be forgotten. ❝ MOTHER... i know you mean well, but... ❞ persephone didn’t like feeling vulnerable, and opening up to demeter about pirithous’s attempt to claim her ( as if she could ever be claimed ) would just start the trauma all over again. ❝ it doesn’t matter who did it. he’s been DEALT WITH. ❞

✎ @hcretics messaged for a starter.
Lana frowns into her drink, back pressed against the hideous floral wallpaper far from the center of attention. She hadn’t expected something quite so formal, so unsettlingly reminiscent of the soirées of her youth, and it puts her entirely on edge, awakens old insecurities as though her mother could walk through the door at any moment with a sharp and scathing reprimand. It hasn’t escaped her notice that she had been intended as the evening’s entertainment, that they had hoped to hear all of the ghastly anecdotes that hadn’t made it into her novel, to be shocked and awed by horrors delivered in the crude, fast-talking manner of an American reporter. The hostess’ request for a reading, the voyeuristic and expectant faces of those nearby, had put a bitter taste in her mouth early in the night. Any notion of pleasant small talk had all but withered on the spot.
Even here, sulking and drinking in silence at the edge of the room, she can feel eyes on her; the atmosphere is thick and suffocating and the need to escape reaches a fever pitch that makes her skin itch and her stomach churn. There’s an air of urgency in the way that she beelines to the balcony, a nervous freneticism in her fumbling to light her cigarette, but it’s with no shortage of relief when at last she takes a slow drag and exhales into the night air.
rick couldn't remember the last time he felt this -- the morning sun glowing exceptionally bright, its warm radiating what would have felt like comfort, if it wasn't for the dead that were roaming the shores of the beach, some half-stuck in the wet sand. it felt like nostalgia, remembering life of what was with a vulnerable fondness. regardless of the past weeks they've all experienced together, a soft smile was brought to his features, his eyes looking to ilene.
"i miss moments like this more than anything."
@hcretics / requested a random line of dialogue.
THE VALKYRIE COULD FEEL HER POWER -- it crackled along the other woman’s aura like a storm cloud riddled with lightening, ready to -- SPLIT open & break open the very earth that they stood upon. To look at her, Hela - this Princess of Asgard, she did not look so dangerous, so ... powerful. But looks could lead anyone astray & no matter how Odin trusted his daughter, it did not mean that the Leader of the Valkyrior would do the same -- even when beckoned.
Bowing her head, the warrior paused a few steps into the room, braids sighing as they slid across her gold plated armor. “ You asked for ME, my lady ? ”
