1. what’s their full name? why was that chosen? does it mean anything?
fredrick adrian tremblay. fred is named after his maternal grandfather fredrik lundén, a swedish biologist who immigrated to canada in the 1960s. fred’s mother is of swedish / dutch descent and his father is french canadian, so his name reflects that.
11. do they have any special diet requirements? are they a vegetarian? vegan? have any allergies?
fred tended to avoid high-fat foods when he was human. his stomach had never agreed with it. he seldom indulged in fried food and rarely ate red meat. he got most of his protein from seafood and vegetables, which were his favourite things to eat.
as a vampire; blood is his only food source as he can no longer digest other types of food. at the beginning of his second life, he was taught to hunt only the “dregs”, the people no one was going to miss. in some verses, fred would come to choose the more “humanitarian” diet later on in life - by feeding only on animal blood.
21. do they have a temper? are they patient? what are they like when they do lose their temper?
fred is the most passive person you’ll ever meet. he’s patient with people who he thinks deserves it. the only people who can get him to snap are either bigots or bullies, it rarely gets to this point though, as he would have removed himself from the situation as soon as he could feel his patience dwindling. fred is very analytical. instead of lashing out, he shuts down to think. what can he do to improve the situation? what can he do to move them along?
it’s a whole other story if the bullshit is directed at his friends or at someone who can’t defend themselves. fred is quicker to take action and quicker to anger. he has always been someone people avoided because he makes them uncomfortable, but when he’s protecting someone other than himself, he’s absolutely terrifying. if civil words or a simple stare down won’t make the agitator back off, fred is not afraid to use his gift (or, in his human verse, become physical).
31. do they drink? what are they like drunk? what are they like hungover? how do they act when other people are drunk or hungover? kind or teasing?
fred doesn’t drink and has never been drunk. i imagine he’s the “my roommate came back drunk last night designed an entire airplane” kind of guy when drunk. & he would either want everyone to leave him alone or he would cling to someone he trusts and starts crying about sea turtles... because he’s a fucking nerd who loves the ocean.
41. what’s their sexuality? what do they find attractive? physically and mentally? what do they like/need in a relationship?
fred is bisexual. in the verses where he is human, fred fully comes to terms with his bisexuality in college. in the verses where he is transformed, it would take a few more decades. fred needs someone who is sincere. he needs someone who’s comfortable with silence. smoking and drinking turn him off, but as long as it doesn’t affect their relationship negatively, it shouldn’t hinder a relationship from forming. as for what he finds physically attractive? i’ve no idea actually. i know he appreciates men with athletic physiques, but that’s it.
