I got this blog back finally after it got terminated for no reason so I'm just going to assume it was the Golden Kamuy posting.

Finished Cold by Drew Hayden Taylor today. Can't say I overly enjoyed it or its politics but it sated the thriller lover in me.

If I had a nickel for every time I've watched a show where Wang Weihua plays a character that can be described as one half of a two dad duo for a character, I'd have two nickels. That's not a lot, but it's interesting that it's happened twice without me looking for it.

Read some of Margaret Noodin's poetry a couple of days ago. This is it. This is the motivation I need to continue learning Anishinaabemowin.

5 episodes into Desire Catcher and I love the contradiction of its audio quality. Perfectly enunciated Mandarin recorded in a soundproofed room and dubbed over a character who has their back to the screen versus an actor facing the camera who seems to have swallowed their lines.

Reread Guardian recently and discovered the other night that I have such strong associations between it and nighttime that a few chapters was enough to put me to sleep.

Need to read more feminist film theory so I can better critique crime thrillers.
