That he'd mutated, evolved. Patch wasn't against returning Athos's title and property to the Goetia, he'd left it pretty much untouched, he still had the Ivory Estate he called home. And that had been gifted to him by Lucifer when he became Baron. But Pride was his home, and he intended to keep his previous arrangement of travelling between Wrath and Pride. He'd not meddle in Goetia affairs, not unless asked by Lucifer or there was something illegal he'd noticed. He did want to work with Hell's authority....

It just seemed like they didn't want to work with him.
