Ethan was brushing up on his anatomy, flipping through the pages of an outdated book he'd found tucked away among the building's library, pleasantly ignoring the bowl of slop in front of him. He never ate it. He didn't know why they kept serving him. He wasn't part of their little family. His presence was a requirement and involuntary. He just wanted them to eat their breakfast so he could go back to his real work.
His attention was pulled from his literature when the gentle scrape of metal against floor rang out, the chair across from him now being occupied. "I didn't realize an empty seat was an open invitation to sit down, but feel free I guess," he greeted them pointedly with a sneer, the interruption clearly unwelcome.
