sigh I actually don’t know why ASP is so married to the her original ending for Rory (word is that ending in the revival is how she wanted to end Rory’s story in the original run before ASP left the show). Fortunately, I finally got my Luke/Lorelai wedding even though I thought they’d be married long before then but... okay. 

But yeah, I don’t know why Amy Palladino wanted that tone to the ending. It’s why I’m not committing to the Marvelous Mrs Maisel. It’s a casual show I watch that I don’t want to be fannish about despite how much I love Midge and Lenny together.

(Although I like that the Marvelous Mrs Maisel is a bit more diverse than Gilmore Girls).

I am wary of ASP’s writing quirks, the one she falls back to generate drama for her characters.

I gasped when I realized, I don’t know why I didn’t realize sooner!

littleironi: I didn't watch the show when it actually aired, but a lot of my friends did. And they all loved either Dean or Jess, so much so that not only were constantly debating who was better, that's how they mainly recommended the show to me. So imagine my surprise when I eventually got around to watching it and I liked neither of them.

Rory's relationship with Paris was way more interesting. I liked her a lot more too. It's such a pity they never went for Rory/Paris, because their dynamic was so great

Yeah! I watched Gilmore Girls when it was still airing but I wasn’t as fannish about it and missed episodes and I wasn’t as invested with the ship wars. I think I liked Jess but also, I think I was also low key annoyed with Jess but watching now on a binge, all I keep thinking now is: Really? Those two?? Seriously?

I’m going to see if I still like Logan (I love the actor because of The Good Wife) and he has a lot of charm and he and Rory had great chemistry but I loved them in the ending of season 7.

And then there is Paris. And, their dynamic is great and all the beats for enemies to lovers thing are with them! And then going to the Bangles concert and Paris admitting she didn’t hate it?? And then that moment during their graduation when they admitted to liking each other, I thought: Oh, wow, this has all the markers of a romantic moment. In fact if this was written during this time they would be more of a romantic thing.

Then there’s the Spring Break episode? C’mon!

I was looking up some info on the ep because i haven't watched bones in awhile and there's an interview of the actor who plays zack just after s11 finale and he was like 'yeah when the news broke with the cast Tamara and TJ went to the showrunner and told him you cannot make zack a killer again. We already had that.'

I’m glad they stuck up for Zack. It was the stupidest plot and I almost rage quit in season 3. It never made sense he helped Gormagon! He might be logical but he had a big family, the lab folks are his family! And Gormagon targets genius kids without a family. 

Also, Zack based his morality on Brennan. He would never ever do anything that Brennan wouldn’t agree with! 

Ugh.

i have stopped watching ryan murphy things but i think he’s become good at tv because his shows don’t need continuity beyond one season. anyhoo terrible man ryan murphy made me chuckle.

I leave it. When i'm done with a story, I don't go back to it. Also, it takes me some time to be able to read it again once I take off my editing hat.

I have stories still up from 10 years ago that I cringe at now. Even though I like most of the plots, the execution wasn't great. I leave them as is partially as a record for growth, but also because I've moved past those stories and don't necessarily want to revisit them. I'm in a different place than I was when I wrote them, and that's okay.

I usually leave them. not really as a record or a meter for growth, but just because those stories are done and they were told the best way they could be a the time.

And I find the answer interesting too -- that despite everything you would all keep a story the way it is, because the story is done.

I mean we could still go the route of resurrecting voldy except like the champions have to rescue their loved ones in the maze instead of the lake. And harry is hermione's ('cause they're best buds but if you want romance it's fine too). The loved ones are supposed to be unconscious but harry wakes up like five minutes into it.
