I don't understand how people believe in the idea of a racial hierarchy. That one color is better or worse than others when we are all the same..We all bleed red we all came from a woman's womb and we are all human beings. She isn't saying deny your culture or your background or who YOU are as a person but to acknowledge that we are all human so nobody is above someone because of their "race" and to think that your superior is ignorance that you picked up and learned which needs to be unlearned. Today is world suicide prevention day. I honestly struggled all day with what to post and what to say in honor of it. So I'll start with my life motto "Love is natural. Hate is learned" self hate is the most damaging of all. I was lucky enough to over come it. It doesn't matter how. It doesn't matter when. It doesn't matter what caused me to feel the way I did or how I hid it or how I expressed it or what I did to change it or what anyone else thinks about it. None of those things matters. What matters is I'm living. You're living. Life is moving. There is so much color and beauty in this world and everything looks dull if you don't have the bad times to make you appreciate the good. The great. The amazing. I post this picture with a good friend of mine. A character from a chapter in my life that will never end. The Disney chapter. Full of my morals and values that I forgot to apply to myself but have now remembered. I wish more people would learn some of them but today? Today the the lesson I've learned from Disney that applies most to this day is "Just. Keep. Swimming". It's okay to feel like your drowning. Keep swimming. It's okay to take a break and float but get back to swimming. It's okay to turn back and swim the other way. Always keep moving. You are great. You are special. You are important.
