#hate receipts

Creator of video: 

“In this video, I’m more referring to BBC Sherlock and the use of queerbaiting as a marketing ploy, as opposed to them not making Sherlock and John a couple” . . . “While I am not as such angry that they didn’t make them a couple, what I do take issue with is using young LBGT fans”

Commenters: 

“You are NOT a fan of Sherlock. You are a fan of the possibility of Johnlock”

“I don’t understand why making people think there would be an LGBTQ romance is queerbaiting.”

“As a hetero girl, I don’t feel heterobaited”

“Did someone lead you to believe that they were supposed to be in love with each other?” 

“Maybe you should consider maybe they aren’s supposed to be gay because I’ve never been gay go figure also your hair is horrible”

We presume that the Johnlocker who made the tweet wasn’t really going to die, but the fact that Mark Gatiss basically told them to go ahead and die - and the amount of Sherlollians who liked and reblogged the post - was fucking disturbing.

Sherlollians - the same people who proclaim to be all about love - laughed along with a man who told us to die, and then posted pictures of graves directed at us, made fun of and belittled our hurt, and created an anonymous hate blog to collectively ridicule depressed and suicidal people.

And then they turn around and call Johnlockers toxic bullies. 

FOR WHAT???

Is it because a few Johnlockers sent you anon hate? Oh that’s interesting because you guys have done that too.

Is it because of a bit of improper tagging? You’ve done that too. 

Is it because of post hijacking? Ship hating? Bullying? Real people shipping? Hating on cast/crew? *checks notes* Yep, you guessed it. There’s not a single thing you can point to to claim that we’re a “toxic” fandom that YOUR side of the fandom has never done. 

Johnlockers have NEVER behaved like this when you guys get thrown under the bus. Remember when Moftiss confirmed the ily wasn’t genuine by saying Molly got over it by shagging someone? Did we gloat about it? No, we just reiterated how Molly was again thrown aside and mistreated for the sake of a male character’s growth. Something you guys keep ignoring despite claiming to be all about female empowerment.

You are the immature toxic bullies of the Sherlock fandom. You are the reason people are warned not to enter the Sherlock fandom. (Remember when you tried to “warn” the YOI fandom about us and they were like “actually we haven’t had a single problem from any of the newcomers”)

It’s funny that a Sherlollian of all people should complain about toxic people in fandoms telling others to go kill themselves considering…

If Sherlollians really were all about “love,” they’d react more like this Johnlocker here when people inappropriately come into their tags saying rude things. We’re not saying it’s okay at all to post mean things in another ship’s tag. We’re saying that sometimes, people do things by mistake, or they don’t know any better, or they add a tag without any malicious intent behind it because they are genuinely unaware of fandom rules.

It happens. And sometimes, it happens on purpose, too. On both sides of the fandom. 

But see how easy it is to just kindly but firmly remind the person to not do it again? We wish we could see more reactions like this from Sherlollians who claim to be the nicest most peaceful people in the fandom instead of only seeing them jump down people’s throats and wage a war against them whenever someone says something they disagree with - whether or not the person is staying in their lane (see our “post hijacking” tag). If the OP had been a johnlocker going in the sherlolly tag to say something like this, the BNFs would have thrown them to the wolves and left them to be torn to shreds because no matter how much they claim to be “about love,” they are the most vicious, hateful people in their fandom.

A sherlollian received this message from someone who is clearly not a johnlocker, based on the way they censor the ship name like all the antis do (as they should, if they are saying something hateful) and the way they totally misinterpret our meta and assume that we think the hug makes our ship canon, when really, no one thinks that. Any real johnlocker would know that and would never have said that.

Mouseymodesty though, of course, can’t pass up an opportunity to shit on johnlockers cause that’s basically her only hobby and she would do it for a living if she could. She reblogged the post and added this little piece:

When first reading this, both I and the receiver of this ask wondered if perhaps it was just a johnlocker being silly and sarcastic - because that’s just how out of line and totally random this message was. But then I thought nah, when johnlockers send sarcastic asks like that to each other it’s super obvious that it’s not real.

So the majority of these were found either around the time of TFP’s airing or afterward:

Some of these screenshots were taken with the blogger’s reply because when you’re receiving anons like these then you have every right to fight back. A lot of these anons were no doubt from the same person, sending messages to a particular blog repeatedly. So we understand why some Johnlockers got fed up and told them to “shut the fuck up.”
