Two days ago Harold Davis passed away. Harold was best known as a Rangers player in the 1950s and 60s who was harder-than-nails. What fewer people know is that Harry was also a decorated hero of the Korea War. During the bloody battle of the Hook in 1953, while serving with the Black Watch, Harry received multiple injuries. He wasn’t expected to survive, let alone play football again. He did both, however, enjoying a highly successful career after two long, hard years of recuperation. His passing at the age of 85 has been remembered by sportsmen and old soldiers alike.
