It takes two
Hey everyone, I wanted to update you guys on what I’ve been up to. I’ve been working two jobs for the past 6 months now. One is a full time position at a bank and the second job is part time. The full time job allows me to pay for all of my expenses for the month. While my part time job allows me to spend my money on miscellaneous things. The extra cash each week from my part time job allows me to make it to my next paycheck a lot easier. The extra cash also allows me to save more. Working a second job can burn you out pretty quickly. You've got to prepared to make use of your free time effectively. That's what I've been struggling with lately. When I'm not working my second job, I just want to relax. Time management is key and what I do is just break things up. Each day I'll do a chore that needs to be done instead of being overwhelmed with long list of chores. With the extra money earned from my second job, I started saving through an app called Acorns. I will do a review on Acorns in a future blog. But a brief rundown on Acorns is it allows me to save and invest it in a portfolio of my liking. With every purchase I make with my debit card, the coins get rounded up to the nearest dollar. For example, I buy something for a $1.35. Acorns will round up to the nearest dollar. Acorns will invest $.65 into my Acorns account and be invested. It's just another way to save money and hopefully get a return. I hope this comes in handy to someone out there. If you have any questions on how I save, please send me a message.
