Strength, and the Chariot in Reverse, for Vadil?
Strength: On what issue is your character persistent?
The Chariot in Reverse: When has your characterās pride or arrogance been their downfall?
āYou knew this deal was no good. So are you really surprised we ended up here?ā
The walls were gunmetal grey; smooth, without apparent seam or rivets. There was nothing in that small room except two men and a lot of antipathy. With barely enough room for the two of them to sit upright, the only light was the red regard of the Chiss as he glared at the Mirialan.
āIt was a good - no, a great deal!ā came the protest. āHeād swallowed it whole! It wasnāt my fault his wife came home early!ā
āNot your fault. Even though youād also slept with her the night before, and made arrangements to carry her cargo to Ord Mantell, and not his.ā
Innocently the Mirialan spread his hands, though the gesture did nothing to salve the Chissā mind, given that a green thumb almost went up his nose from it.
āHow was I supposed to know they were together, and running rival operations?ā
āBy letting me do the research before you head in there crotch first!ā With a snort the Chiss turned away, scratching at his arm in irritation.
āYeah, well,ā the Mirialan said, his tone modified to his best āapologeticā mumble. āMaybe thereās that. Iām sorry, āRant.ā
āNo youāre not. You never are.ā
After that, the silence stretched on, the Chiss pointedly looking away from the sad Mirialan, blue eyes wide and deep, as though he were an Akk puppy who had been kicked.
āHey, āRant?ā Silence was never around too much when the Mirialan was there. It pricked at his ears and made him bored. Boredom and Vadil had never really mixed well.
āWhat?ā The red eyes still studied the featureless wall, refusing to meet the puppy gaze.
āSeeing as weāre here, do you think we couldā¦ā he wheedled.
āYou havenāt even heard what Iām going to say.ā
āItās always the same. āLetās have sex to pass the timeā,ā he mocked. āNo.ā
Defeated, the Mirialan slumped against his own far-too-close wall, idly pondering on just how theyād get out of this one.
āHave you worked out how weāre going to get away?ā
āNot yet.ā the Chiss grumped. āJust let me think. Quietly, if thatās even possible for you.ā
