i truly do write for myself, and it is a 10/10 experience. all my stats (including comments at the bottom) are hidden on ao3. all i see is what’s in my inbox, and every comment feels like christmas. comments can motivate me, but at the end of the day i am my #1 audience. it feels freeing to not commodify my art. this is a hobby, not a hustle. writing fanfic itself is such an act of self-love, and publishing it is an act of courage and loving your community. just feeling grateful to be a writer on ao3 💖
