"Oh, just leave me here to expire, my dearest Hapi. I fear I am no use to anyone..." Constance trails off, her usually-vibrant voice faded and thin in the bright sunlight.
Hapi grins, cocky and undaunted. "So, what would happen if I just smooched you every time the sun came out? Think you'd have a better feeling about it? Positive associations, right?"
"You soothe like the caress of a shadow, darling. Please promise to kiss me in the darkness as well." Constance remains plaintive.
Hapi chuckles, a dark but still playful tone creeping I to her words. "Oh, I'll do more than that in the dark. I promise." The words whisper against Constance's cheek before Hapi trails her lips lightly against Constance's own.
Despite herself, despite the energy sapped from her body by the bright light, Constance's lips curve against Hapi's in anticipation.
