Grief (daphne)
Time. He assumed they had all the time in the world, giving for granted the idea that time runs out sooner than we think it will.
If he had known he wouldnât have time, he would have done so many things differently; he would have forgive sooner; he would have told her it was okay; he would have been there for her, but all those âshould havesâ and âwhat ifsâ were just consuming the last bit of his gray soul. Life was cruel and she was gone. They ran out of time.
Astoria have tried to explain what have happened in between sobs and cries but he didnât listen. He didnât want to know what happen. He didnât bloody care. She was gone, that was it. The way she left this world seemed completely irrelevant.
Millicent sobbed next to him, resting her head on his chest as they both walked towards the coffin where their friend was laying. He didnât want to see her, not like this but he wasnât going to let Millicent go through that pain on her own so he walked her towards the stage where everyone was giving Daphne Greengrass their last goodbye.It was their turn now and they walked slowly towards the coffin.Â
Theo felt something inside him break.
He looked at the girlâs lifeless body and he felt his soul fade away. He felt as his heart have crumbled down and he had the temptation to just collapse and yell in anger but he didnât. He looked at her emotionless as Millicent cried even harder, her hands gripping his coat even tighter than before. He wrapped his arms around Millicent and kissed the top of her head. There were not tears in Theoâs eyes and people were already thinking he was a heartless jerk but he didnât care. If she was there, she would have known.

The boy cough to cover the sob that tried to come out his mouth and looked at Milli as she let go of him and kissed her friendâs forehead. She walked away and waited for Theo to give his proper goodbye, she knew he wouldnât be able to give it unless he was alone. The boy placed the white rose he held on his free hand on Daphneâs hand and smiled sadly, a smile shared just between them. They have shared so many smiles like that. People thought of them as cold and heartless but the fire inside them always grew bigger when they were together. They had their own little world for them to play, it was them against the world. They grew apart and things got complicated but at the end of the day the fire inside them still burned.
âYou were my person. You still are.â He whispered.
