Quiet Is The New Loud/Kings of Convenience: I've sort of been a passing fan of these guys for a while, but never really sat down for an album before, and this is some really lovely stuff! Will be hunting down a CD of this one for sure. Stand out: Failure - music video

Self-titled/Townes Van Zandt: Townes is a chronic re-recorder of songs, especially ones from his first album, but I think this is the quintessential Townes album? To me he is the last sad cowboy... Stand out: Colorado Girl - audio

Felt Mountain/Goldfrapp: GOD I AM OBSESSED WITH THIS ALBUM. very thoroughly put together and it's just such a gorgeous mix of creepy and sensual with the right amount of fun and haunting. The instrumentals songs are delightful. Stand out: Utopia - music video

The Fungi Sessions, Vol 1/Hannah Read: A very very beautiful trad album and it's just really lovely all the way through. The fungi enthusiast in me delights in this. My stand out track was also apparently used as accompaniment for an art exhibition too, which is super cool! Stand out: Silverphae - music video

Mercurial World/Magdalena Bay: LOVE a concept album... honestly my fav MB album and i do think as an album it is better than Imaginal Disk... a comfort freaky bop time for me. I am also a lover of cyborg imagery... esp with girlies. Stand out: Chaeri - music video

Self-titled/Le Tigre: ANOTHER comfort album honestly... one of my very good friends and I discovered our mutual attachment to this album this week so I've been on a kick ever since. Stand out: Eau d'Bedroom Dancing - audio

Dusk Moon/Rura: this came out three years ago and I don't really remember loving it all that much. Listening again, there's definitely no major bops, but it's a solid listen and just gentle trad, which I think I've been leaning into more and more these days. Stand out: A minor emergency - audio

The Great Impersonator/Halsey: I am still mad this kinda flopped... girlfailure music at its finest and also what is being musically done is so important to me here... a smorgasbord of genre and styles but still distinctly Halsey. An album for the MASKERS. Stand out: Darwinism - audio
