I clearly remember telling him I was pregnant with our first. There was a long pause… “Are you serious?” but it wasn’t accusatory. It was genuine excitement. I on the other hand was scared! Matt was thrilled. I can’t tell you how much that squelched my nerves. And at that moment, he unknowingly set the tone for our new chapter, with another to follow. We had 2 really sh*tty birth traumas. So much so, we opted out of a third thinking it might not survive. We were already 0-2 in smooth deliveries. And as Matt pointed out, we’d be outnumbered. My point is from the beginning he’s been simply the best, the calm in chaos, a voice of reason, and keenly interested in Jackson & Paige. His streak of awesomeness continues every day.
