Hello friend, I assume based on context clues you're wanting to know about the wip lovingly called *magic hands*.
Magic Hands
This one is being written as a gift for a dear friend @mllekurtz, and as such, all other thoughts about it will be under the cut since it is a surprise, though they do know about the basic premise
I am also collaborating on it with a friend in the writing process
(ask me about one of my wips)
If you are not the lovely Mlle, read on!
The prompt given reads as such: Essek being thoroughly taken apart by Mage Hand while reading on a chaise longue.
Of course, this has gone further as Caleb is also nearby, and Essek is doing this in his presence. Caleb eventually notices, and it escalates from there.
It is a smut fic with my usual levels of emotional weight in it as well because I can rarely write smut any other way.
This is also a trans!Essek fic
Not sure how long it will take to be able to share in, as it's being written from dual POV's with each of us tackling one, and it's been a delight to collaborate on.
I currently have 9k in my doc, and i'm close to the end (I think)
And here is a little snip:
He turns to Essek and goes to speak, before he stops, mouth clicking shut and the question forgotten. Essek's sitting with his head tipped back, eyes closed, and lip caught between teeth. The hand that he can see holding the book is twitching slightly, it no longer quite covering Essek's face. Maybe it's the play of light from the flames, but he swears Essek's cheeks are flushed too, a wine-plum hue darkening his high cheekbones.
Caleb turns back around and stares at nothing, mind turning.
It's the look he's seen on Essek's face before when he's trying to remain quiet as Caleb takes him apart, fingers moving between folds and dipping just slightly to feel the core of warmth between Essek's thighs.
Caleb shifts in his own chair, his cheeks warm, and blinks.
Surely not?
He stills himself, tilting his head slightly and listens, trying to catalogue every beat of movement.
It's faint, but there's a catch every so often to Essek's breathing, a hitch that's only audible because Caleb is listening for it, and then, a slightly sound that Caleb recognises because he's caused it himself before: the unmistakable sound of fingers moving through slick and pushing in and out of a body, muffled by clothing, but happening nonetheless.
Oh.
Oh.

What are some common threads you've noticed in your own writing? From themes you're drawn to exploring, to little details that tend to reoccur.
Oooooh, interesting question! Writing is always revealing in some ways, I think, so I suspect there are common threads I am not aware of! But here are some that I know about:
I am very interested in the politics of power: who has it, who uses it and how, who lets it go and why. In an interpersonal sense: who speaks and is listened to, what the ripple effects of someone's social capital are, what the unspoken pressures on relationship dynamics are. I like it when power is messy and characters have to navigate it.
I am very interested in consequences; I don't tend to like things that let characters off easy. As an author, I think if you're going to invoke something, it's much more interesting if you don't soften your intent by fixing everything bad that happens or letting a character off the hook for harmful things they've done. Sometimes consequences are permanent. Why not work through them instead? There's both horror and grace to be mined from this -- if you don't flinch, your characters must work to earn any happy ending, and it will be more meaningful.
I like exploring understated things and small gestures. I think there's a lot of beauty to be found in tiny intimacies.
I like ambiguity a lot. I like relationships that are hard to define. This is related to an intentional challenge I've set for myself: in my fics, Caleb and Essek will never say, "I love you." They do love each other, but it will be expressed in other ways, which I find very fun.
A detail that reoccurs: throats are sexier to write about than I anticipated. I think it's the vulnerability.
Hey friends, this is my first 100% finished illustration.
I don't get to art much, because as must as I love it I've never been an "artist" so I couldt justify the of the mediums I learn in at school. I also live in a shoe box and things like oil paints are smelly.
Any way I liked lovingly at my artist friends and even more so at my digital artist friends. Cos it just seemed sooo cool.
After a minor set back at the cost of a laptop that would actually run stuff... My partner resurrected his old think pad we gave it a new hard drive and new like.
1 friend game me a waicom, then another then my parter found his.... so I've gone from nothing to a laptop and 3 waicoms.
I've been designing some stickers and things for my little side hustle to sell. But my evening chill is to build a room.
I call it Lofi lounge, because I listen to a lot of Lofi while I work on it.
πhow often do you celebrate completing & posting a work? how often do you give yourself the credit/validation that you seek from others when you post? (if you don't, you should!)
I am not the best at celebrating things, but it is something I am trying to get better at. I know, when I finished musicians, I got Thai takeout just for the heck of it and I should do that more often!
Excuse the potentially terrible formatting, Iβm using my phone for this and it hates indents. Have a peek at the next musicians chapter to be posted. π
Essek presses the doorbell, hears it chime dimly from inside the house before there is a shot and an exclamation that sounds like someone called him hot boy before footsteps rush towards the door. Itβs wrenched open, and heβs greeted by both Jester and Veth, the former dancing between each foot excitedly while Veth looked openly suspicious.
βAh, hello, Calebβheβ¦ well, I am hoping itβs okay for one more?β says Essek, and he winces at how hesitant his voice sounds. Did Caleb tell them he invited Essek?

ahahah I'm picturing the emoji, thanks friend π
(ask me a fanfic writer ask)
πwhy did you start writing?
Oh gosh, this is still a relatively new thing for me (I guess?? if you can call late 2020 new), but I think it came out of just having a fragment of a scene idea in my head and needing to go well what next. The two times I have actively spent time writing were born out of the same question. It became a very nice creative outlet in a time when I didn't have many of them.
Hello friend! π What is your favorite trope(s) to write? π
Hello!
π Is there a favourite trope you like to write?
Oh boy, I'm trying to think of tropes and immediately nothing is springing to mind.
I think I write a lot of found family, as that is something so very important to me. Lots of first kisses, and on the opposite end, established relationships.
I don't know if this is quite a 'trope' as such, but I also like writing accidental proposals or accidental confessions? I've done it a few times, and it's fun to have these moments happen and then realise what it is after.
23. Dialogue or description? Why is the other one so hard?
I actually like writing both for different reasons, but I know when I get stuck on a scene or I'm struggling, I will default to writing in just dialogue with basic stage directions and come back and pad the description out later. I have a theatre degree, so often approach writing in the dialogue-first mindset and what is/isn't said in the dialogue (I love a good bit of subtext) and then find the way through the action in that.
