Fernando got the text when he was already in a bad mood, strewn on the sofa, shirt smelling faintly of alcohol and that was already strange—he’d specifically picked today as the day to stay in and grumble to himself. Unfortunately that meant he hadn’t consumed a drop of alcohol.

Well in ‘07 he’d got P2 four times and then two wins in a row so this year he got second twice and then a win, so he wouldn’t win in Austria, thought Fernando but he didn’t say.

It was Fernando’s biggest regret, one night after fucking Hungary, of all places, Lewis tearing up as they went at it in his motorhome. It had been Lewis’s first time with a man—he’d been so open-eyed, waiting to learn despite the day’s events.
