oooo, can we hear more about Antilia? I’ve heard the name in passing and read about her in some Raphael centred fics but don’t know anything about her. You can spill about headcanons or whatever you’d prefer! x 🫶🏽 / @dirtandclay from mainnnn
omg hi!! sent after does raph have siblings? ask
What we know from canon: she is Raphael’s half-sister and secretly Mephistopheles’ daughter. I say secretly because no one in his court knows the truth of her paternity, maybe a few select people. She serves him openly as his official bard. Baalzebul believes she works for him as a spy, but in reality she feeds him false information on her father’s behalf.
Now, how secret is secret? We don’t know much lol, but Raphael is certainly far more vocal about his lineage, so I imagine he doesn’t have a role that requires secrecy the way Antilia does. Or being the loved child in general. lol he’s the bullied kid at school telling people hey did you know my father is like super rich-
If I were to spill some quick headcanons:
Raph would be dying with jealousy that she’s the “official bard” and the “talented art child” bc he prides himself on his own musical and poetic talents. He would absolutely try to out-art her or critique her work just to be petty. They’re rivals, for sure, in every way.
Trauma bonding, perhaps? They could totally bond (in a very hell way lol) over how terrible their father is. Fancy wine nights at the House of Hope, just trash-talking mephistar? yesss please 🍷✨
I hc that Antilia helped raise Raph, considering it’s very unlikely Mephisto did, and his mother is likely dead from childbirth, since cambion mothers don’t survive. She’s responsible for a lot of his appreciation for the arts and material-plane craft because she brought those things back from her travels. She also assisted with his lessons, like the harpsichord and learning languages.
Raphael has fond memories of her, while Antilia herself saw every passing moment with bratphael as a damn eternity. Antilia would sell him for a pocketful of beans. They have a complicated love-hate relationship, but the “hate” on Raphael’s side is more about self-protection and jealousy. So much jealousy. Oh, to be dad’s prized calf…….
super fun concept to explore tho ✨thanks pooks!
