see? we're rich. 💵
❝ Where did you steal that from ? ❞ the accusation is immediate and she sighs in response. Gwen knows she shouldn't be so quick to judge but with his reputation it was kind of hard not to. ❝ You know I have money, right ? ❞ maybe if he buys her a nice pair of shoes she might just overlook this.

she knows placation when she sees it and this guy (patrick? percy? whatever) is doing the lord's work here. it's only embarrassing if she lets herself feel embarrassed and there is just no room in her ego for that mess right now.
darcy sniffs indignantly and takes his hand delicately.
"i would have done numbers in clown college," because you can't be embarrassed if you play it off like you meant to fall and meant to make hysterics out of it!
once on her feet, darcy glares at the offending missed step.
"where even are we? this place is an osha NIGHTMARE!"

don't get me wrong : it is fantastic news that i'm not the only idiot roaming in this galaxy on behalf of humanity, but having quill around seems more trouble than it feels worth. rocky's ransacking never got to this level, and at least with rock i got to pick the music.
grace casts a supervisory glance over at the other, despite his objectively better piloting expertise still not trusting him as far as he could throw him to get them through this safely. ❛ do you do much of that ? thinking ? ❜ fingertips tap to his temple as if to emphasise the point and almost knock his glasses askew, almost entirely upturning this whole schtick he's trying to maintain about him being smarter. the whole astrophage professional aspect is really carrying him through this, whereas the wacky shirts and ramen blocks . . . not so much. thankfully, he's not exactly in serious company at present. ❛ might be worth a shot sometime, just don't strain yourself when you do. ❜
hello :-) odd little stalker here, i simply must compliment you on how well you transcribe ryland's inner monolouge i think andy weir possessed u. amaze amaze amaze
WHEOOWWWW if i had a nickel every time i've been compared to weir himself i'd have two nickels but it's weird that it's happened twice... i never know how to reply to things like this because??? i'm just so flattered dfsldfklk this book has become extremely important to me, so any comparison is truly golden and sacred (and amaze amaze amaze!) in my lil heart <3
nothing stalker about it! i'm glad you're liking it and i appreciate you taking the time to send in a comment about it, it really means so so so so much so thank you :')

Billy took the vial from him, carefully managing to brace it against his knee so that he could get it into a good position to press the sprayer of the serum. He fumbled for a moment but managed to regain control of the container without dropping it. It took a couple attempts, but he was able to get the medicine onto his finger.
“That makes sense, I suppose.” He said, leaning his head back against the wall behind him. A dull but growing ache had started in his finger, which Billy could only assume meant that it was working and the bone was starting to return. He peeked down briefly, seeing that the ugly green colour was fading to his usual skin tone, and there was a tiny portion of his finger that was more stiff, right by the knuckle.
The progress was slow and eventually the ache in his finger grew so intense that Billy decided to try and speed things up a little bit. He started muttering. The air filled with a strange energy, crackling almost like electricity as it gathered into a cool blue light around Billy’s finger.
“IwanttohealfasterIwanttohealfasterIwanttohealfaster-”
It didn’t take long for his finger to repair itself, Billy grimacing as he felt the bone scrape along the inside of his finger as it regrew from the knuckle out to the fingertip. The light of his magic faded and he gave his hand a cautious stretch. Everything seemed normal.
“Thanks for your help. I don’t think Teddy’d ever let me live it down if I came home with a floppy finger like that.” He joked. Knowing his husband, he would probably make fun of him for a while and then make his own finger floppy out of solidarity. He'd appreciate the gesture, but it was different when your body was supposed to do that.
“A true medical marvel.” Billy responded, deadpan, before pushing himself up off the floor. “So about that gem we’re supposed to find…. You have any idea of where to look?”
