Sylfring was born the same moment the goddess sisters Tymora and Beshaba shook hands on a challenge of sorts. They were to both bless a mortal, give it special attention, and see who won out in the end: Bad luck, or good?

Naturally, this led to Sylfring having a rough time as a kid. She ended up being raised mostly in a Tymoran temple from the age of 4 onwards and while she saw her parents at times, they grew further and further apart until eventually they were just as much strangers to her as anyone off the street.

All, however, was not perfect. It didn't take long at all once she was given up to the temple that Beshaba had her hands on the child. This caused a rift that never quite healed in the Tymorans around her home temple with some seeing her very existence in the temple as blasphemy, while the others claimed that her "curse" was all the more reason to take her in. Luckily, the latter group won by vote, and she could stay, though not without suspicion and tension among the leadership.

While under the roof of a Tymoran temple she was safe and had unnatural luck even for the clergy. She was a natural cleric- as long as one could look past the wild sorcery that occasionally slipped out. Though luckily it always happened with few harmful effects. This was not so whenever she left temple grounds. Her luck turned as Beshaba made up for lost time. The wild magic around her surged and brought with it anything from minor inconveniences to the violent raging of the elements.

As she grew older, she grew restless. Followers of the smiling lady were not known for settling down. They were adventurers, adrenaline chasers, and protectors. So, with her clerical training completed years before, she finally left the temple to strike out on her own as an adventurer.

With every step, a cosmic coin flipped, and her two goddesses watched eagerly for it to land.
