For me it's how in One Tree Hill no one can think of a unique name to name their kids to save their lives!!!!

Nathan and Haley... I love 'em... but they did this too. They named their first kid James Lucas Scott. The first name is named after Haley's dad and her maiden name. So her father's name was literally James James (that's a whole nother discussion. His parents must have really hated him to name him that lol). James or Jamie as he's called has a middle name of Lucas so named after his uncle Lucas.

Then Nathan and Haley had a daughter and named her Lydia Bob Scott. Lydia is the name of her mother. Which is a sweet idea because Lydia had just passed away not long before Baby Lydia was born. And I think this would have hit harder if not every single child in Tree Hill was named after someone else. Then the poor baby's middle name is Bob which is Haley's middle name. Why would they do that to this poor child. It's like Haley passed her name trauma onto her child. I get they had a cutesy reason for that name (she was named after their family cat Bob the cat). But still... it isn't even that it's a boy's name for a girl... it's that it's Bob!!! I'm sorry to all the Bobs. It just sounds like such an old person name kinda like the male equivalent of Mabel or Myrtle.

Peyton and Lucas' name choice REALLY bothers me because it feels like a lack of continuity and it literally is. Not long after Peyton gets pregnant she says she wants to name her child Anna... I think? It was definitely a more girly name and she wanted to name the child Sawyer if it was a boy. She literally had a daughter but named her Sawyer. Like what is the psychology of that? Is it that she really wanted a boy and so she named her Sawyer in protest? I'm not saying that naming your girl a stereotypically boy name means you didn't want a girl at least not in general but it is weird that she says she will name her girl a certain name and then goes against it a mere few months later. It mostly annoys me though because it's her naming the child her maiden last name. Citizens of Tree Hill do this all the time. They love to name children the maiden last name of the mother and I just beg for some creativity. They then made Sawyer's middle name Brooke... named after Peyton's best friend. Again creativity please!!!

And then Brooke and Julian named one of their twin sons Davis... yet again named after her maiden last name!! And their second child was Jude which I think was a rare unique name.

I just think that the writers of One Tree Hill should have bought themselves this handy dandy new thing called a name book 😉
