finished mockup for the inscription I’ll have on the blade of Haleth’s elvish-dagger/gift-from-Caranthir! (thanks to meneldilme for putting the patches on my original butchered Quenya Tengwar)
now to find someone who can engrave a blade…and then learn how to make a resin copy for DragonCon…
(edit: looking again I can see that the “i” Tehta in “Tarquimellen” isn’t centered quite right, but I’ve fixed that in the file on my computer)
two options for Haleth’s outer tunic (the most distinctively “Haladin” part). bottom is my embroidery pattern for the sleeves and hem. (gold, red, and metallic white).
this tunic WILL have a hood but it looked really janky so I ix-nayed it from the sketch (if I go with Option #1, the tree branches (tree=applique?) might continue up and wind around the edge of the hood.)
Screw it. I’m going to get the fundamentals of Haleth (probably without the tunic embroidery I’m designing but we’ll get there) finished for the Ren Faire in February.
I’ll have the pants (sharing them with my Lancelot cosplay) and the shirt That just leaves a linen, suede, or heavy cotton for the tunic (lace-up front) and the swordbelt/bracers.
Gonna use a short (chin-length) wig for her for now, eventually long braided one
(Eventually: elven knife and a throwing-axe)
