summary: stiles finds out you're dereks sister and has to cope with the news lol
warnings: none, just canon typical losers flirting lol
note: just gonna leave this here lmao. this is just a little drabble, but i hope you guys like it!!
âlet me just clarify this. when you say brother, you meanâŠâ
âbrotherâ
ââŠrightâ stiles nodded. âand thatâs like a 100% sure, yeah? no chance of misconduct orââ
âstilesâ
"okay, you know what? it's fine" stiles smiled, but did not look even close to being fine. "i mean what's a little relation to derek hale, when there are far worse monsters, right?"
"right." you nodded, trying your best to help stiles calm himself down.
"i mean has he ever talked about me.. to you, i mean?" his gaze narrowed as he searched your face for any hints of rememberance. "i think he likes me."
"well," you paused, trying to think of the time before you had come back to beacon hills and what your brother had said about scott mccall and his idiot friend. "he's definitely mentioned you."
"ha!" stiles called, a victorious smile settling onto his face. his fist swung through the air and just nearly missed you as you swerved to the side quickly. "eh, sorry," he excused. "i'm still getting used to all these new proportions."
"are you talking about puberty?"
"well, it was a hard time for me, okay?" he bit back. "everything happened so quickly. likeâ like being hit by a bus. but not in a fun way."
"there's a fun way?"
"iâ" stiles blinked. "it's definitely more fun than being ripped to shreds by your brother when he finds me here." stiles made a large gesture to signal that he was not supposed to be here. in your room. at night. in the loft you shared with derek.
"why are you emphasizing the word brother like that?" you furrowed your brows.
"ever heard of the phrase 'foreign concept'?" stiles muttered, before he lowered himself onto the bed in front of you. "i mean how is that possible? like biologically?"
"well, when a man and a womanâ"
"don't" stiles interrupted. "you're supposed to be serious."
"you're not really serious either, are you?" you crossed your arms and leaned back against the headboard.
"i'm not supposed to be. i'm allowed to fight trauma with the inappropriate use of sarcasm. it's who i am. you shouldn't even be able to detect a joke or crack a smile, considering who raised you." he send a side-eye in your direction before he continued rambling. "and as always it's just my luck that i am hopelessly into someone who's related to derek hale. this is just greatâ"
"you're hopelessly into me?" you repeated surprised.
"i said someone related to derek hale." stiles corrected. "i could very well be talking about your mother."
"are you talking about my mother?" you repeated with a roll of your eyes.
"nah"
"okay, that's good. because you know she's dead, so your love would be doomed from the start."
"yeah, good argument, actually." stiles nodded repeatedly. "glad we talked about this. now that i've revealed my interest, is there a slight chanceâ i mean statistically speaking and considering, uh, that iâ"
you interrupted promptly, taking his face into your hands and moving him so close, your lips were not far from touching. "you should stop talking."
"uh, yeah, i probably should"
you kissed himâquick, impulsive, no time for words. it was over in a second, but it left both of you breathless, staring at each other, the tension thick in the air.
your eyes wandered over the stunned expression on his face, before you moved closer once more, softly kissing him again.
the door to your room flew open with a bang and you and stiles jumped apart, similiarly surprised at the sudden sound.
your brother was standing in the doorway, his dark eyes narrowing at the scene in front of him and stiles quickly moved his hand away from your thigh, as if derek's stare alone had burned it.
"stiles." derek growled. "you have about five seconds to get your slimy little lips away from my sister before i rip you to shreds."
stiles shot you a look that clearly said "i told you so" before scrambling to his feet and practically bolting out of the loft, not bothering to say another word.
you couldn't help but smile up at your older brother. "oh derek, do you always have to be such a sourwolf?"
derekâs lips twitched into a humorless smirk. âyeah, okay. thatâs it. you're officially banned from ever seeing him again.â

âWhat? Why?â My head snapped to his. We had to get Brett to Deaton soon if he was going to recover. Scottâs eyes skipped over mine to Stiles.
âIâm going with Brettâ I stated.
âLilyâ Stiles tried.
âIf weâre going to have any chance of finding out whoâs behind the list, you gotta stay hereâ Stiles avoided any fast movements as Derek arrived to help the boy.
âI-â I opened my mouth to argue, but I knew the boys were right.
âFineâ I made a face and didnât resist as Scott pulled me into a hug, trying to block my eyesight from a hurting Brett.
The police department soon arrive and with them, Agent McCall. The father, son duo had a talk before Liam and I approached the younger, soon learning that Violet and Garrett werenât just responsible for hit list murders. They were responsible for dozens of other murders along the west coast.
-
After school hours, Scott and I decided to check out Garrettâs locker, trying to see if we could find any clues: a form of communication, a note, a letter, a duffle bag full of money.
Garrett had blood money. Inside of his locker. Inside of the school. Scott and I looked at each other with a look but said very little as we ended up at the boyâs house, tucking the cash under his bed.
Scott insisted that I spend the night, worried that Garrett might want revenge for hurting Violet, despite my reassurance that everything would be okay.
âAre you sure?â I paced the boyâs bathroom worriedly.
âNow please go to bed because I promise that I have everything under controlâ Derek whined. I looked towards the door that led to where Scott was before speaking.
âLily?â A beat of silence passed.
âYeahâ I replied back.
âGood nightâ Derek sang. I waited another moment before sighing.
âGood night Derekâ I paused.
âBut if I find out that youâre lying to me, you will regret itâ I hung up quickly then waited a moment before heading towards Scott.
âWhat is it?â I walked in to see the boy staring towards the ground, sitting at the end of the bed.
âNothingâ Scottâs head snapped towards mine and I made a face at his answer.
âItâs justâ He thought for a moment, causing me to sit down next to him.
âYou know what we could do with this money? How many problems we could solve?â He questioned hypothetically.
âI knowâ I tried to empathize.
âBut itâs not our moneyâ I reasoned.
âNoâ Scott looked up from his hands.
âItâs not my money. Itâs yoursâ I made a face.
âScottâ I started before he could interrupt.
âAll my money is in a trust fund that no one can accessâ I explained.
âMy mother never left any information on it. I just know it existsâ I shrugged.
âWhat?â Scott now made a face.
âThis money is Peterâsâ I gestured towards the bag.
âWho else would hide bonds in the vaultâ I made a face. Scott groaned out. I donât know if that answer made him relieved or more worried.
âI thinkâ I crawled onto the boyâs lap placing my arms around his neck, trying to provide him some comfort.
âWe tell Stiles, and we go from thereâ I started playing with the hairs on the back of his neck.
âTell no one until thenâ I shook my head slightly. Scott blew air from his lips and leaned forwards to press his forehead against mine.
âI missed youâ He spoke after a moment.
âI love youâ He whispered against my lips.
âI love you tooâ I replied and smiled into the kiss that came soon after.
-
The next day arrived quickly. Scott and I traveled to school together then separated after realizing that a certain beta was missing.
I spent time trying to convince Mason that Liam was okay and that he shouldnât worry, to no avail.
It wasnât until I got a call from Chris Argent that I became worried at Scottâs whereabouts.
âWhy didnât you say anything?â I questioned as the boy noticed my arrival.
âI didnât want to worry youâ The both of us made a face when Deaton explained that he would have to pull the foreign object out of his stomach.
The alpha then went on to explain that it was Kate and the Berserkers, but it was extremely difficult to find or hurt them. Luckily, however, the claw that was previously in Scottâs stomach would be able to help us. I was able to track it.
I eventually led us to an old Argent Arms International building, then tried to convince Argent that maybe he should sit out, but he answered by bringing out an AR.
We made our way inside of the building quickly and quietly, keeping our senses dialed up to ensure our safety.
âYou shouldnât have comeâ Kateâs voice rang out. Scott and I looked at each other before he spoke.
There was no point to the conversation as our questions werenât answered, and the talk ended in violence. Violet was nowhere to be found. The Berserkers started running towards us. Argent started firing his gun. It was pointless. The bullets were barely slowing them down.
They eventually got close enough that we were now fighting hand to hand. I understood Scottâs warnings now, but I wasnât the same person I was a month ago. I was faster, more powerful, better.
I had one of the berserkers on their knees in front of me, arm around itâs neck, the other hand by itâs temple, eyes glowing red.
âCall them off Kateâ The girlâs head snapped towards me. I made a face as she called the creatures to retreat. I pushed the creature towards the girl as they made their way out of the building and I heard Argent call out from beside me.
Scott arrived beside me to help him up as the man started apologizing. There was still time. We could still save Liam.
As if on cue, the beta roared in the air, causing Scott and my eyes to snap together, then to Argentâs.
âGoâ He spoke, and Scott and I started running towards the boy. I could tell his curiosity was heightened. I wasnât able to keep up with him before.
We arrived just in time. Scott caught the boyâs hand. Liam was okay, but he was still poisoned.
-
âScottâ I whispered as they boy avoided eye contact with me.
âYou canât put that kind of pressure on yourselfâ I hesitated touching him, but he closed the space between us.
âI have toâ He looked down at our clasped hands.
âFor Liam, for Stiles, for my mom, for everyoneâ His head slowly met mine.
âFor youâ I made a face.
âFineâ I huffed out.
âThen we carry this burdenâ I placed my other hand on top of his.
âTogetherâ Scott opened his mouth to disagree.
âNo excusesâ I placed a finger in front of his mouth before cupping his cheek and moving closer for a kiss.
âTogetherâ He whispered out. The door then shut from the floor below and I moved slightly to sit next to the boy, waiting for Stiles to enter.
We were telling him about the money today. Scott explained how we found it, why it wasnât my money and to that Stiles said that he wouldâve done the same thing.
âWe should probably count itâ Stiles spoke. The three of us looked at each other before silently agreeing and tipping the bag out onto the floor.
Along with the stacks of hundreds that fell out of the bag, so did a tape with the words âplay meâ on the label.
a/n: So basically, the soulmate au sort of thing I chose for this was the one where when youâre close to your soulmate (you have to be very close) sparks literally fly. It shocks everyone around you but it feels very recharging for you and your soulmate. I hope this is okay and as always, requests are open and enjoy ! :)
Request:Â The reader is in the woods but doesn't know that the alpha pack is in the woods as well. The reader bumps into them and the reader is a beta. They don't kill the reader because Aiden finds out that the reader is his soulmate (this isnât the full request as I asked for a further plot line due to lack of ideas, sorry)
Warning: There is one swear word (sorry!)

You already knew that Derek was going to be seething with anger when you arrived back at the loft but right now, you didnât care. All he had been doing for days, weeks even, was complain and grumble about the alphas. You could barely breathe in there without being the victim of Derekâs grumbling.
Thatâs what led you out here. You werenât annoyed at Derek for being concerned, but you just needed some quiet, and not being constantly riled up by him. However, the Beacon Hills Preserve probably wasnât the best place to be by yourself at night, but you could hold your own, you had faced enough things in your life so far.
However, the silence you had been enjoying was disrupted when you heard twigs and sticks break from underneath someoneâs foot. Your breath got caught in your throat as you hid behind the thick tree you were currently at, claws out and ears listening in to see who it was.
âPatience,â A strong British accented man called out calmly, his voice monotonous. It was the alpha pack. Staying quiet, you tried to figure out how many of them there was behind you by counting heartbeats.
You counted four. However, if you remembered correctly, there were five alphas in the pack. Deucalion, the British man, and Kali, the girl were people that you had unfortunately met before but your brother had told you about Ennis, the extremely muscular man, and the twins. So who was missing?
It was at that moment where you found out, a hand gripping your neck and holding you up, swinging you around the tree and slamming you into the bark. The rough bark pierced your skin as the hand dragged you up the tree. You looked down at whoever it was: Kali. Of course it was her.
The rest of the alpha pack advanced slightly as Kali sneered at you. You would have given it a go, trying to fight off Kali but she was an alpha and you were simply a beta. Plus, she wasnât alone and clearly had the upper hand here, youâd be surprised if they even spared your soul never mind leaving here unscathed.
âIf it isnât y/n Hale,â Kali scowled, her eyes turning the alpha red color, âIâm seeing the resemblance, honestly. Both you and your brother have the scowl perfected now, donât you? Did that happen before or after the fire?â
You could feel the anger bubbling in your stomach but your face remained the same, e/c eyes never leaving Kaliâs. You wouldnât tear your eyes away from hers, because that was a sign of submission and there was no way that you were letting this thing have the upper hand over you more than she already does.
Noticing that she wasnât going to get a response for the deep-rooted childhood trauma you had endured, she continued, âSpeaking of your brother, why donât we get him down here? Let him finish off the initiation to the pack right here right now?â
It was clear that she was just trying to get to you, everyone here knew that Derek wouldnât kill a member of his pack, let alone his little sister. You struggled to talk due to Kaliâs ridiculously long claws digging into your neck, faintly drawing blood.
This time, you decide to reply to the woman. You expect her to get riled up and you know itâs a bad idea but you do it anyway, âOh Kali you know my brother wonât kill me. He wonât get all jittery and kill his pack because someone asks him like you. He isnât a little bitch.â
Shortly after you said that, you realized just how bad of an idea that was. Youâve been spending far too much with Stiles and now canât keep your mouth closed, good job y/n. Kali clenched onto your throat harder and pulls you away from the tree, throwing you like a sack of potatoes onto the grass several feet away from her.
You tumble as you land but ultimately land on your feet, a hand on the grass as you turn, growling. You had briefly contemplated howling but you knew that was exactly what Kali wanted, she wanted your brother involved. But she also knew the deal, that she wasnât allowed to touch a single member of Derekâs pack until the next full moon and that deal was now null in void.
Deucalion was angry at her; you could feel it and you knew that at the end of the day, even if you were bloody and bruised, she wasnât going to be left unscathed either. That brought a smirk to your face as she advanced, you doing the same. Pain filled your face as you felt her claws dig deep into your cheek, you subsequently taking yours right down her stomach.
âKali!â Deucalion shouted but Kali didnât pay attention as she punched you in the face, making you fall to the ground, but in the split of a second, you were standing above her and she was on the ground; electrocuted.
In fact, most of their pack was now on the ground, but a feeling of rejuvenation filled your body. It was empowering and unlike anything you had ever felt before. It was like you were high, and nothing that anyone would do would affect it. Your eyes didnât stay on the members of their pack that were on the ground, but instead noticed that there was one that was still standing up; staring at you.
His eyes were turned red, but it wasnât because he was engaged to attack you and that was when you realized exactly what was going on. Your fangs were protruded with your mouth open, letting out heavy breaths, feeling high on adrenaline. It was one of the twins, they were your soulmate. He made his way towards you and suddenly, you didnât feel the need to back away, he wouldnât hurt you, right?
He stood about a foot and a half away from you, looking down at you with his red eyes. Kali stood up with a growl, clutching her side as she spoke, âIâm going to kill you.â
Yet, when she went to lunge at you her arms were caught by Aiden, his grip almost being strong enough to crush her bones as he growled menacingly, âYou arenât going to lay a finger on her.â
Kali stared up at Aiden, growling ever so slightly before realizing that she wouldnât manage to get him to step down. She might have been a lot older than Aiden and had a lot more experience being an alpha but right now he was a lot strong than her due to the strengthening of his powers and weakening of hers because he found his soulmate. Â
Disregarding her, he turned back to you with a grunt to which you nodded your head in reply, a form of gratitude that only you two seemed to pick up on. As the alpha pack retreated, you were left to your thoughts, Hales were not normally big on soulmates, Cora hadnât found hers and Derek had been forced to kill his, so you hadnât had much hope to find yours. Yet, when you met him there seemed to be a formidable bond between the two of you like a promise that neither of you would break; he would see you again soon, you just knew it.
But as you began to walk back to the loft you thought, "oh no, how the hell am I supposed to explain this to Derek?"

You hated this. You knew Derek had good reasons, of course, but you hated saying goodbye to everything you knew and had grown up around. You hated that youâd have to say goodbye to your friends - people who had become like family to you. Most importantly, though, you hated that youâd have to say goodbye to Isaac.
âDerekâs being an idiot,â Isaac said, a scowl on his face as he glanced over at you. You rolled your eyes, sighing.
âHeâs being the protective brother he is. I can handle myself but...heâs right. Itâs a risk with me staying here in Beacon Hills and Iâll be safer if I stay away. Unfortunately, the best way to do that is to not let anyone know where Iâm going...â Isaac frowned, glancing down and taking your hand in his.
âWill I ever hear from you again? Or is this it?â he asked, and you sighed, shaking your head.
âI donât know. Maybe once things die down but...itâs hard to tell, Isaac. So, to make things easier, Iâm...this is it, Isaac. Thereâs no other way I can put this - we have to end this.â Isaac knew you were right - you were always right. It didnât make it any easier, though, and he leaned forward and placed a kiss to the top of your head, lingering there for a moment before pulling away.
âYeah, I know. Just...stay safe, okay? Donât do anything stupid.â You laughed softly, shrugging.
âI should be saying that. You do stupid shit all the time.â He chuckled, nodding before pulling you into a tight hug. You held him as tightly as you could, breathing in deeply before the two of you let go of each other. If you dragged this out any longer, you wouldnât be able to leave, so you sent him a shaky smile before turning on your heel and facing everyone else.
âItâs been real, guys. Iâd stay in touch if I could but Derekâs being a butthead, so...until next time.â You heard Derek scoff at the name, and you simply rolled your eyes. You glanced over at your uncle, a bit surprised to see him here, but you approached him anyway. âIt was...somewhat nice to know that you arenât dead. Stay out of trouble, Peter.â He gave you a smirk, shrugging.
âCanât guarantee anything, but Iâll try.â You shook your head at him before turning to Derek and letting out a sigh.
The bold was written by my favorite poet, Robert M. Drake.
ââââââââââ
Ever since I could remember, I hated the way I was made. I hated my eyes, my voice, my smile, my body, my laugh. I despised everything that made me who I was. My insecurities screamed profanities and insults at me. I was stupid, useless, worthless, a failure. The way I saw myself made my heart break. Every breath I inhaled was a poison to my lungs. I hated life, and living the one I had made me feel like fate was made to terrorize me.
The demons in my head were violently fighting my mind, and I was losing that fight. I could feel myself slowly fall apart. I had been clawed at, shot, savagely attacked by the horrible creatures in Beacon Hills, and still my own mind caused me the most damage. My friends never knew of the struggles I faced. I cared about them too much to let them suffer through my thoughts.
Scott had been through so much already, and as an Alpha, he didnât need my problems as well. We all had just lost Allison, he didnât need to deal with my pain as well. If he had known about what I was going through, he would put his life on hold to help me get better. Scott McCall was the kind of friend that would go through hell just to make sure you were doing okay, and he deserved to be able to heal. Your best friend deserved a better friend.
Lydia just lost her closest friend. The only reason we became friends was because Allison dated Scott. To you, your friendship felt forced. She didnât need you in her life in general, so why would you go to her? Your distress was a petty thing compared to the death of the girl she saw as a sister. You were invaluable to her. She was mourning and your problem wasnât as important as hers was. She needed her space.
Isaac went to France with Argent, but you werenât exactly close to him either. He was just your brotherâs ex beta. You werenât a werewolf, so Derek never had you around Isaac while he was training him. Derek had left with Cora a while ago, and he wasnât known for being communicative. None of the Hales were really. Your uncle Peter could care less about your problems. Peter didnât care about anyone but Peter. Derek never called. He had just abandoned you. He left you as alone as you always felt.
Thatâs what you were. Alone, alone to drown in your sorrows, and you poisoned mind. I was the embodiment of heartbreak and misery. My mind and soul tore me down and left me a shell of a being. I was a ghost of who I used to be, and what hurt the most was that no one cared enough to notice. I cared too much. I cared for my friends even if they didnât need or want me. I would always be there for them, even if I cried to sleep every night, and awoken by my monstrous nightmares two hours later. I would always stand tall for them even if I was falling apart inside. They could never know my pain, they never saw it anyways.
A knock on the loft door shakes me out of my thoughts. I shake my head and quickly wipe away the few tears that had fallen down my face. I walk towards the door and slide it open. I look up to see my other best friend, Stiles. I give him a soft smile and let him inside. I walk towards the living room and he silently follows me. We both sit on the couch and I patiently wait for him to say something.
âYouâve been acting differently lately, and I know everyone is so focused on mourning Allison that they havenât noticed. Iâm your best friend, Iâd like to think youâd know I would realize the change.â He tells you.
âI was mostly hoping you wouldnât notice like the rest of them. Iâd feel less guilty.â I tell him.
âWhy would you feel guilty?â Stiles questions.
âGuilty for the way I feel. My feelings need to take a back burner. Allison is what matters.â I say.
âYou do too.â He states.
âNo, sheâs what matters right now.â I reject his words.
"I donât believe that. Maybe I hope too much. Maybe I dream too much. Or maybe I love you too much to just give up on you.â He says passionately.
âIâm a waste on your love.â I inform him.
âThat might be what you believe, but Iâll be damned if I ever let you give up on yourself. Iâd die before you could give up on yourself.â He answers. He reaches out for you, and you notice how close you two have gotten. Your knees touch his and you can feel his breath on your face. Your eyes water as his words sink in, and you close your eyes. You move your head to the side and try to avoid his eyes. He grabs your chin and you open your eyes to look at him. You see the love he holds for you. You can see how much heâs willing to fight for you, and suddenly a part of the darkness in your heart disappears. That moment made me realize something, maybe love was meant to save us from ourselves.
âWhat did you want to show us?â Stiles asked as he moved to sit on the bed next to Scott.
âWellâ I started.
âYou remember how I brought you both with me to the Hale vault?â I questioned while pacing back and forth.
âLilyâ I snapped my head to look at the boys.
âItâs just usâ Stiles continued. I paused before speaking.
âIâve been working on something that I wanted to show you bothâ My eyes flickered from one boy to the other before I finally backed a few steps away from them towards the door. I shook my hands a couple of times before starting and cleared my throat.
I brought my hands in closer to my shoulders and bent my elbows as my eyes glowed red. I straightened my arms and in my hands were blades, real life blades glowing a faint red as well. I smiled to myself as I flipped them in my hands, then tossed one to Scott, who caught it without thinking.
âWhat the-â
âCoolâ I chuckled before explaining.
âI didnât have my motherâs spell books, but I did have her journals and in them, she talked about how she saw other witches summon weapons from nowhere, and could make them disappear just as fastâ I spoke in one breath excitedly.
âMy mother didnât even have a full spell in there about itâ I gestured to the book sitting in my bag.
âBut she started one, and I finished itâ I spoke proudly. Stiles gestured to Scott to see the knife.
âLilyâ He moved the knife around to inspect it.
âThis is coolâ He looked back at me. I smirked, then snapped my fingers, effectively making the weapons disappear. The boy jumped a little as the wolf and I laughed.
âNot funnyâ He pointed at the both of us and stood up quickly.
âBut usefulâ He pointed at me. I shrugged before both the boys were hugging me, singing praises.
âDo you even know how to use them?â Stiles pointed out. I made a face and playfully pushed him.
âOf course I doâ
-
I woke up with a gasp as I clutched my chest, forcing myself to take deep breaths. I closed my eyes and imagined the happy things in my life, most of all my anchor: Scott.
âLilyâ The door opened.
âStiles is ready to goâ Dad peeked his head in and spoke. I quickly maintained composure and replied with a short answer.
âIâll be ready soonâ I spoke and gave him a smile. He bid his farewells and love yous before I sprung out of bed to get ready.
-
The car ride was filled with the two of us making theories on the sanity of the resurrected, his and my bond, and where my other family was. We soon arrived at the school, making no real progress on information. I closed the passenger door as I noticed that the twins had arrive and were talking with Scott. I nodded my head in their direction when Stiles looked at me, curious as to why I froze.
We walked over to the trio and joined in on their conversation. They wanted to talk about joining Scottâs pack. Stiles did most of the talking as Issac joined, going on about their mistakes as well. One of the Aiden then half transformed and walked towards Issac, threatening him, as the other wolf made no protests.
Issac only retreated when I called out his name, effectively making him calm down.
âIssacâ I spoke aloud. Both wolves turned to me before Scott spoke.
âSorry, but they donât trust youâ He paused.
âAnd neither do Iâ He continued before interlacing his fingers with mine and walking past the two.
Issac walked a different path as the rest of us walked into the school, Stiles praising Scott along the way. The alpha forced the boy to settle down, then turned to me.
âHe listened to youâ I continued looking into my locker which was next to Stiles.
âWho? Issac?â I questioned and continued grabbing my books. Scott leaned against the locker next to mine and tilted his head downwards.
âBoth of themâ I said nothing but shrugged my shoulders as an answer.
âLilyâ Scott placed a hand on my lower back as my head snapped to his.
âIf youâre asking me if I used my powers, I didnâtâ I looked up to the ceiling to think.
âI just called a nameâ I shrugged once more and closed my locker, turning to my brother.
âYou just called a name?â He questioned. I groaned and didnât answer as I walked away from the boys onto my first class of the day.
âHeyâ Scott moved next to the boy.
âHi thereâ Stiles spoke sarcastically.
âI was thinking about-â He hesitated and looked lovingly at the girl who was now speaking with Kira.
âI was thinking about asking Lily outâ He forced himself to turn back to the boy, who made a face of confusion.
âAsk her out?â Scott nodded.
âI thought you two were already datingâ Stiles turned his attention back to his books.
âI mean, with the way that she talks about you like youâre the only man on the planetâ He continued.
âWe basically are, but we havenât solidified anything. And-â His eyes flickered back to the girl.
âAnd Iâm afraid sheâs thinking we arenât committed to each otherâ He admitted.
âYou arenât committed to each other?â Stiles spoke a little too loudly as he closed his locker.
âYesâ Stiles then started laughing.
âBro, trust me when I say thisâ He placed his hands on the wolfâs shoulders.
âShe feels the exact same wayâ Scott made a face at this.
âYou sure?â Stiles nodded.
âYouâre the alpha, the apex predatorâ The two started walking down the hallway.
âEven without the mate bond, everyone wants youâ He paused, thinking.
âYouâre like the hot girl that every guy wantsâ Scott considered Stilesâ words.
âSheâs the hot girl that every guy wantsâ He looked towards the girl.
âAnd every girlâ He groaned.
âNoâ Stiles spoke.
âYou areâ He patted his shoulders once more.
âIâm the hot girl?â Scott questioned.
âYou are the hottest girlâ Stiles confirmed as he started walking away.
âIâm the hot girlâ He stated with more confidence as Issac approached, confused.

The three of us sat in our next class waiting for Coach, until we heard a string of curses, then the slam of the door. The boys turned around to see my smirking face as Coach continued going on about how he hates mischief night. Coach then continued his rampage and ended up destroying a perfectly good gift from his birthday.
My senses sharpened as I noticed something familiar in the air. I waited a moment to say something about it by confirming with myself the facts.
âWhat is it?â Scott mustâve turned back to see my smiling face, but was met with a serious and focused one.
âI think Derekâs backâ
-
âIs that dad?â I looked up from my locker to see Stiles looking at a group of deputies.
âYeah, I think soâ I moved to go towards him, but Stiles beat me to it, leaving Scott to pull me back.
âUm, what were you and Kira talking about earlier?â Scott muttered out. I tilted my head before answering.
âUm, small talkâ I answered shortly.
âI need to diversify my friends to include people that arenât supernaturalâ I made a face. Scott made another face.
âNot that thereâs anything wrong with my current friendsâ I clasped my hands behind Scottâs neck and tilted my head up to look at him.
âAbout that. I-â
âIsnât that your dad?â My attention quickly drifted to another group of business dressed agents moving quickly in the halls. The two of us looked at each other as Scott went to hear their conversation until Stiles and Lydia approached.
The police was leaving. The grounds were cleared. The sounds in Lydiaâs head- the buzzing- was getting louder.
âWho? Whatâs wrong?â Scott called out.
âBarrowâ I whispered out.
âYeahâ Lydia said.
âThe nut job William Barrow?â Scott asked.

The alpha went to meet his mother as I was informed by my brother that the school would be on lockdown until 3. I then got a text from the former telling me to gather Issac and the twins, as we would have a way to track Barrow.
The wolf then pulled out a pair of gowns, to which I groaned. I did not want to hold some old guyâs robes. After the wolves took a sniff, and I used my powers as well, we split up into two groups: the twins, and Issac, Scott, and I.
We couldnât find a scent and decided to just cover all the ground, where Issac kept talking about how much he didnât like the twins, or trust them. We kept searching all the way to the end of the hallway, when the fire alarm rang. With a sense of urgency, the three of us made it back upstairs and out of the room.
The other teens met up with us as we told them that we found nothing. Stiles was concerned that something shouldâve happened, but nothing did. Lydia stated that she didnât know if something was supposed to happen or not: if everyone was safe or not.
âLilyâ Scott came up to me after school ended, telling Stiles that he would take me home.
âHi Scottâ I smiled back.
âWhatâs up?â I questioned.
âI know this might be poor timingâ He paused.
âButâ I added on for him.
âButâ He chuckled.
âI just wanted to take you somewhere tonightâ He spoke while scratching the back of his neck, feeling awkward.
âOhâ I was surprised.
âWhat?â He was concerned.
âItâs just thatâ I paused as I grabbed the extra helmet.
âWeâre never usually this formalâ I smirked before following Scott onto the motorcycle, which took us to a location in the woods.
âI hate to break it to you Scottâ I took of the helmet and ran my fingers through my hair.
âBut Iâve been in the woods beforeâ I gave him a face.
âYou should know, you were there most of the timesâ He made a face back and placed a kiss on my hairline before taking my hand to lead me further.
âI know weâve been in the woodsâ He turned back to look at me.
âBut this is somewhere special to meâ We continued walking until a clearing appeared, showing the whole of beacon hills.
âWoahâ I whispered out.
âCool, right?â Scott let go of my hand and allowed me to walk forward on my own.
âYeahâ I nodded. Though Beacon Hills was just a small town in Southern California, when you looked at it from here, it looked like it never ended. I felt warmth on my back as arms snaked around my waist and a weight fell upon my shoulders. I smiled and leaned into the boy as we stood there for a moment before speaking.
âLilâ
âYeahâ
âI also wanted to bring you out here to ask you somethingâ I turned my head to look at the boy.
âOkayâ The two of us moved so that we were facing each other.
âI was wonderingâ I silently encouraged him to keep going.
âIf you wanted to be my girlfriendâ He spoke aloud and looked down into my eyes. The boy watched as my eyebrows furrowed and became worried.
âWas I- Did I-â I placed my fingers in front of Scottâs lips and shook my head.
âI thought I already wasâ I smiled and watched as Scottâs face turned surprised.
âOh no yeah, I just- I just wanted to confirm itâ He shrugged and tried to remain calm.
âWeâre matesâ I made a face.
âI thought being boyfriend and girlfriend would be a givenâ I admitted, to which we both laughed and met for a kiss. I giggled and felt my heart melt when the boy placed his forehead against mine. We stayed like that for a moment before I pulled back and inhaled sharply, eyes glowing brightly.
âWhat is it?â Scott hesitated placing his hands back on my body. I shook my head slightly.
âKira?â My eyes stayed unfocused as I tried to refine this feeling when my thoughts were brought back to a phone ringing. It was Stiles. Barrow was after Kira.

Scott and I met Lydia and Stiles at the edge of the woods where we were explained how Lydia came to this conclusion and what we could do. Scott called Issac who couldnât come up with anything, and Lydia was losing confidence on her abilities.
âI justâ The girl placed her hands on her head as she walked past us.
âI swear to God, it literally makes me want to screamâ I paused and looked towards Stiles, who encouraged the girl to give in.
I placed my hands over my ears at the sharp noise and watched as the girl slowly turned her head towards the city. She seemed to think for a moment before realizing that she wasnât hearing buzzing- flies, she was hearing electricity.
We came to the conclusion that Barrow would probably be at his old workplace: he used to be an electrical engineer.
-
We arrived at the station as I unlinked my arms from around Scott and released the helmet from my head. Lydia was urged to stay in Roscoe which caused her to send a pleading face to me. I shrugged my shoulders slightly as I sent her a face of pity before following the boys into the building.
I heard Kiraâs pleas as I entered to just see Scott get hit by a shock of lightning. Stiles and I looked at each other as I quickened my pace and entered the room as all the electrical compartments fried and sent out bolts of lightning, which made my heart race with worry.
I lifted a hand up to cover my eyes and take a deep inhale as I prepared to use my powers, but was halted by an electrical hit to my abdomen. My body hit on of the fences before hitting the ground which caused me to groan out in pain and hold on to my torso tightly.
The tiny explosions halted and I craned my head up to see Kira seemingly absorbing the electricity. I groaned out in pain once more as I slowly pushed myself to stand, faltering when a shooting pain shot through my torso.
âLilyâ
Scott yelled out and rushed to my side to help me up, though he had just been hit with a similar blow.
âIâm fineâ I promised and looked towards a shaking Kira. I felt a hand lift my shirt to reveal an electrical burn spreading across my ribs. I looked down and let out a sharp inhale as Scott squeeze my hand a bit and let my shirt go. The boy tilted his head to look at me as I smiled slightly and nodded my head towards the girl as another person entered.
Stiles replaced Scott as the wolf went over to check on the girl, and I was left with a worrying brother. I kept reassuring the boy that I was fine, which was proved wrong when the police and paramedics arrived, insisting that I should be taken to the hospital.
âIâm fineâ I promised.
âDoesnât even hurtâ I lied and I was given disbelieving faces. Everyone eventually gave up at my persistence as we made our way to the sheriffâs office, not to talk with the sheriff, but with Agent McCall.
âYou should be healingâ Scott whispered into my ear.
âIâm fineâ I made a face as Scott tilted his head and took his focus off of me.
