May 16, 1971: the last-ever Prince Valiant panel fully illustrated by the strip's creator Hal Foster. Though Foster would continue to write the strip until 1980, the art would be mostly handled by John Cullen Murphy from Foster's pencil sketches. Murphy had been handling many artistic duties since 1970, but this was Foster's last complete panel.
