Hal Forrest: Tailspin Tommy strip original art (1934)

Written and illustrated by the talented Hal Forrest, Tailspin Tommy was a rip-roaring aviation-adventure strip that spun off reprint books, a radio series, a dozen Big Little Books, and even a movie serial. In the wake of Charles Lindbergh's landmark crossing of the Atlantic, tales of aviation and aviators gripped the public imagination like never before. The first aviation strip, and according to many the best, was Tailspin Tommy.
