CALEB   HAD   AN   ORDINARY   CHILDHOOD   !   before   kaylee   was   born   he   was   a   rough   and   tumble   toddler,   always   scraping   his   knees   and   bruising   his   palms,   finding   new   and   adventurous   ways   to   get   into   trouble,   all   while   his   parents   attempted   to   corral   him   back   into   the   house.   he   was   brave,   curious,   and   most   of   all   his   smile   was   the   picture   of   his   mother's   own,   bright   &   sunny,   and   oh-   how   he   was   full   of   bright   baby-toothed   smiles.

after   his   mother's   death   in   childbirth   to   kaylee,   caleb   changed.   he   was   quieter,   rougher   in   ways   that   no   child   should   have   to   be.   he   was   protecting   himself,   building   walls,   but   there   was   always   an   opening   for   kaylee.   kaylee   was   the   only   good   thing   that   came   out   of   their   mother's   death,   and   so   he   became   her   protector,   her   guide,   her   sentinel.   he   was   the   picture   perfect   older   brother,   and   whatever   she   asked   of   him?   he   most   always   followed   through   with.

growing   up   as   now   a   pair   of   two,   instead   of   one,   caleb   and   kaylee   did   everything   together.   they   explored   the   scrapyard   like   their   own   personal   playground,   they   made   forts   in   the   woods,   and   were   basically   inseparable.

when   camp   rolled   around,   caleb   and   kaylee   attended   as   campers   first.   camp   was   his   second   home,   where   he   made   his   first   friends,   developed   first   crushes,   and   learned   more   about   himself   than   he'd   had   before.   he   was   good   with   his   hands,   workshop   his   best   activity,   and   he   soon   took   up   a   hobby   during   the   off   season   in   the   scrapyard.
