the forehead dots for fenris are from art released by matt rhodes i believe of his full tattoos. so kinda canon?

I know where they come from but they’re not in the game. Like people still forget about Seb despite the resources being there, but...they’ll remember those damn dots.

sidenote did you happen to read any of the codex-y stuff when you played? there's some interesting tidbits in there. like the fact that the scars are sentient hive insects only taking the shape of humanoid beings. which you know. creepy.

Yeah, we did. The soundwave-themed ‘magic’ they seem to be shooting for is interesting. Someone was clearly having fun with subwoofer and ferrofluid design cues.

The scars are creepy sure but what worries me is unless we get to actually interact with them on a level other than “killable mob #6″, they could be four teddy bears in a trenchcoat for all it actually matters. Warframe is a game with an arms-length relationship with story, but you still get a good feel for the factions thanks to NPCs who talk to you.

That’s hard. On the one hand I’m more attracted to Fenris, more introverted like Fenris, but...intimacy might be easier with Zevran, like he would have an easier time trying to make sure I’m comfortable? Does that make sense?

Not saying you’re wrong, but they could have TRIED. Like, give her grey hair or even a few wrinkles around the eyes, make her look older, at least, instead of just waving their hands and saying ‘elves, man, amirite?’

I mean, they do the same with Leliana and Cassandra, since Leliana is thirty-ish by this point but still looks the same age as Origins, or the fact that, with her saying that the events of Dawn of the Seeker were nearly twenty years ago, Cassandra is pushing forty, but looks no older than around twenty-five.

yeah but if it had been a novel, and valta was the protagonist, how would anyone else in universe learn what she learned? we as the player could know if we read it, but valta stayed in the deep roads, she wasn't sharing what she learned with anyone. the inquisition being involved gives us someone who can actually share that information with a future protagonist.

and it's actually kind of a huge problem that so many players don't know what they should about fiona (mother of alistair, giving birth to him is the one time anyone's ever been cured of darkspawn taint) so idk why they should have repeated that mistake with the titans lore. and similarly, there's no one to tell the player that info in game. alistair doesn't know and fiona seems content to take the information to her grave. dlc isn't a perfect solution, but it's better.

Yeah, I’ll grant, it is a rock and hard place either way. There’s no real good solution, just solutions that are less bad. It’s not like I haven’t been critical of their handling of everything that had to do with Fiona, or the Orlesian civil war. 

I suppose what would have helped me with the Descent overall is just more that justified the Inquisition’s involvement - why is Orzammar, who have historically eschewed involvement of surfacer matters, calling on the Inquisition, to help them? What made them turn to surfacers to fix their problem? The story doesn’t justify itself as part of the Inquisitor’s tale, which I feel it should if it’s going to be added to this tapestry in this way. But I do acknowledge that it being shoved off to a separate corner of the franchise, only to be dropped into the main game in like DA4 or later, would be just as problematic.
