i wonder how many other anime have done that? like the whole changing a single op as the series goes on kinda thing? i know danganronpa 3 did something similar (both sides had awesome opening too), but not for each episode

ahh yes, the scene that look like something straight out of a soap opera

so dramatic, and then that switch to ‘YOU’VE NEVER LISTENED TO ME VICTOR’ is so great

oh i love how yuri’s mom is just already calling him ‘vicchan’

OHHHH the way yuri puts a hand to his chest hearing that victor chose him

ohhh! yurio’s hair was shorter at the start of the series! i got so used to the longer hair i apparently almost forgot that hair grows over time ha

man i love how all the peeks we get at georgi are so laid back and then when we actually meet him we learn. again

ahh, yakov’s ‘victor only thinks of himself and so can’t be anyone’s coach’ line, and then later on, chris’, ‘it’s not like victor to find someone he wants to protect’ line.... mmmmmm 

i love how surprised yuri and minako get when victor sneezed

OHHH MAN i can’t get enough of how the banquet in ep 10 just twists so many things on its head and i love it to pieces

gosh like EVERYTHING victor says and does in this episode pertaining to being his coach... living with yuri, the insistence on the coaching fee... it’s SO COOL that they told the story in this way, with us feeling just as confused and maybe even slightly miffed at that whole situation at that same time, like srsly victor YOU chose to be yuri’s coach, why?? u overstayin ur welcome?? and now with ep 10′s context, it’s like, both of them must have felt that itching confusion at the back of their minds, like ‘why in the world is victor HERE to be my COACH?????’ and ‘why is yuri so confused that i’m here when he personally asked me to be????’ and yet both of them just rolled with it and look where we are now

OHHH FUDGE like ohh man like i know this light and happy side of victor is part of his personality anyway but just like he looks so happy being able to get to know this dude who gave him the opportunity to live that night at the banquet

like because victor’s seen as that untouchable standard that almost everyone puts on a pedestal, it’s created that sort of isolation that just kinda puts a damper on living and loving i was about to type ‘lifeing’ om as victor talks about in ep 10

and so having someone just go to him without any hesitation and just. DANCE with him in that drunken state, not really paying any mind to the whole ‘consecutive winner’ and ‘world record setter’ thing... yuri letting victor feel human for once, as opposed to the standard or idol that he’s been regarded as for years... even if it wasn’t directly intentional then, yuri’s ‘i just want you to stay who you are, victor’ line WAS intentional and just.... gosh.... im so gonna talk more about that beach scene when it comes up

“we’ve barely even spoken” oh yuri honey y’all didn’t even need words that night so it’s ok

oh im so happy for him he looks so happy and i’m so glad

OHHHHHH FFFFFFFFF OK WAIT SO yuri’s monologue of wanting to skate and catch up with victor, to meet him at that skill level, at that standard. it feels reminiscent of the ‘where i open up, he meets me halfway’ line, but more the meeting halfway part

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE TUNING DOWN OF THE MUSIC WHEN VICTOR DROPS THE ‘can’t skate til u lose the weight!’ LINE. I LOVE IT

im so glad we get info on minako here like. seeing that she’s a world famous dancer???? and that it was upon her insistence that yuri start skating like???? MINAKO IS SO GREAT

and then during those moments when we hear how minako’s ballet studio was such an important place to yuri, how yuri goes to minako before onsen on ice and even though it’s so late at night minako knows how much it means to him and they just go straight to training, those moments when minako is just straight up crying out of pure pride for her student, for someone that she’s rooted for for so long finally be in arm’s length of his dreams.... yuri’s and minako’s relationship is so nice. 

OMG when yurio first arrives at hasetsu and is just about to post a picture he hums a bit that’s so adorable

man dude.... the promise victor made to yurio made so, so much to him... if i’m not mistaken, i think that’s one of the first times we really see him smile? like i have a feeling they probs already indirectly addressed this, (possibly by showing how amazing yurio’s done without victor directly choreographing both his programs) but if they didn’t, i wonder if that promise will be addressed again in ep 12... if there’s room for it....

ah and the little melody on the wind instrument during the memory, that was really nice

FFF YURI JUST SLAMMING INTO THE DOOR WHEN HE GETS TO ICE CASTLE THAT GETS ME EVERY TIME

ALSO YURIO MY BOY U CAN’T JUST KICK PEOPLE AND STEP ON THEIR FACES but man it takes some serious leg strength to send someone flying like that

ok so in the scene where both yuris are watching victor skate what was probably eros, yurio talks about how no inspiration makes you as good as dead, and victor’s awareness of his inability to surprise the audience. so, by the time the banquet rolled around, i feel like it’s possible that victor might have been feeling that ‘inability to surprise’. that lack of inspiration. so, when yuri drops the ‘be my coach!!!!!’ line, what if that moment was also like an, ‘oh!!!! coaching someone else...... what a good idea!!!! that’s how i’ll gain inspiration back!!!’ kind of idea, in addition to the whole ‘you can pinpoint the exact moment when he just falls in love with him’ thing? like they say that teaching something to someone else can also help with learning about it, right?

man. yuri did so many good and unintentional things that night.

aghhh seeing yuri reaction to yurio and victor interacting is just.... man... 

ahhh and here, victor learning about yuri through the people around him, getting that characterization of yuri that we probably wouldn’t have received if we stayed in yuri’s perpective the whole time... it makes victor’s, ‘you aren’t weak, and no one thinks so either’ line to yuri be so much more meaningful, especially since we know those aren’t empty words said just for the sake of saying them.
