thinking about how the only character in the series thus far to land a hit on suo is nirei

i love fakir so much. he's traumatized by a fanfic he wrote when he was 4. he's directly related to the series' main antagonist. he rides a horse around school and rips his clothes because he thinks it makes him look cool (it does). he's been in a custody battle with a homeless girl for 10 years over a fiction character. he does ballet because of said custody battle. he brings his toddler sister to school so she can collect gossip for him. he was framed for public attempted murder and his only punishment was suspension from school??? he has one of the best enemies to lovers storylines of all time with a bird. he is god.

why is it that gay and bisexual characters are allowed to convey their orientations through subtext, but not asexuals. why aren't we provided the same grace? why will you only accept a character as ace if they say it directly? hmmm?
