Despite the craving for attention that ate away at his very soul, it wasn't in Dandy's nature to expect anything today, yet here he is, surprised as ever.

Astro had always been the more openly doting one, hadn't he?

The irony of that was palpable.

A small gasp as cold lips prick at his skin, eyelids fluttering in near wince from the mere gesture. Petals weakly attempt to close.

He can't stop shivering.

Yet Dandy does not resist, practically melting into the affectionate acts. Who is he to resist the moonlight peering through the gloomy clouds brought on like an occasion like today?

Nothing is said, but the smiling unfurling onto his features mutters more than words could.

"Are you sure it's ok for me to come up here? With the other...real toons?"

It was just him && her now.

Dandy's tapping fingers were the only thing puncturing the silence, accompanied by soft clicking of the counter.

Click, click.

His head couldn't help but tilt askew at her voice, petals shifting inquisitively. He had stayed quiet up until now, unsure of making conversation.

Though his eyes spoke volumes, they never left her during the trip.

It was almost nostalgic, bringing up someone new. The air of mystery that swallowed them whole.

Brought him back to a time he'd be more comfortable remembering from a distance.

A hesitance, hands, both upper and lower, wring nervously as the moon approaches his flower Dandy. "you've been...quieter, lately...is there something wrong?" Well, besides everything around them, at least.

Dandy, as always, sat atop the cushioned box at his shop; leafy legs idly swaying about. After a friendly wave hellllloooo! his head cocks to the side inquisitively at the question;

    ❝ Who, me? Wrong? No, I've been just fine  &&  dandy! ❞  he snickers,  ❝ Simply been hard at work, is all! I'm a busy bud! ❞  eugh, was it really that obvious?

    Well, maybe to Astro it would be. He always had a keen eye when it came to this;

    Truthfully, Dandy was exhausted. It happened again. Fury, metamorphosis, bloodshed, restoration. The cycle continues. Except was that really the right word for it? Restoration? That would imply he was fixed. No, reverting back into himself hurt. More than you could ever imagine. Butterflies aren't supposed to turn back into caterpillars, now are they? It left him, frankly, beat beyond belief.

    And that was before he even had to drag himself back to the surface, like clawing one's way out of hell. Something he had only finished doing not long ago, hence the more reserved nature. Well ... more reserved than usual.
