I have so many thoughts about Supernatural at all times. Almost at the end of rewatching it (again) and thinking about how mad I am about the ending. I'm SO strongly of the belief that Castiel and Dean should've traded places. That Castiel should've confessed while Dean sacrified himself to save Cas and Sam and Jack and whoever. It would've been a more righteous and fitting death for him than what actually happened, and there's so much more to say about Castiel being the one who survives and has to keep going but not Dean. He will live past Sam (unless he's like murdered I guess??). He loses not only the man he loves but also a very close friend, both men who changed him permanently forever, and he's meant to do what? Keep going?? Live forever knowing that he's still on earth but the Winchesters aren't anymore? Jack is there, but is he really? He's not really Jack anymore, not the Jack that he WAS, and Castiel is alone in this story now.
Either way let Jack at LEAST let them be together at the end of the day. At least let him say they've suffered enough, done enough that they deserve to be together. To this day I lay awake at night thinking Jack I swear to you that if you do not go and get your father out of super-mega-hell I'm literally never going to recover get him out of there rn. I don't care if you're playing at this whole hands off indifferent God thing you better go get Cas before you fuck off forever.
