G-Man and Wife: Worlds Collide

Some people wanted to know more about the AU versions of my S/I OC, Dusk. So here’s a rundown of the different versions of the character. I have included the main universe one first so you can compare. Please feel free to comment or sent asks if you would like to know more about a particular Dusk! There is a lot more story than what I’m writing here. If any of these specifically become liked I’m more likely to make content for them. Though my main S/I will always get content. As for general information on my Half-Life head-canon; this post has the info.

Fem Eldritch Dusk – The Government Woman – G-Man’s wife Name: Unknown; Carcosians never use their true names. But is it known to roughly translate as ‘Herald of the Endless Dark’. Agent designation is just ‘Dusk’.

I have already posted so much about her, but as a refresher; Dusk is a fellow agent of the Bureau that fell in love with G-Man while working with him at Black Mesa before the resonance cascade. Both were there to oversee the events leading up to the ‘catalyst event’ of that particular timeline. They were both working as ‘humans’ there for a while and got married before the cascade happened. I have made this story into a gmod comic series that also goes into the HL2 events and beyond.

Fem Human Dusk – The Secretary – G-Man’s lover

Name: Her real name is ‘Emma Scythe’ but she goes by ‘Dusk’.

An office worker at Black Mesa; she meets G while he is posing as a human quite some time before the cascade. G is initially interested in her because she doesn’t find his unusual mannerisms or appearance off-putting like most other mortals. He starts a relationship even though Dusk thinks G-Man is human. They have a whirlwind romance but G is haunted by the fact he’s lying to her; she’s incredibly happy being with him and loves her job at Black Mesa. Of course this all leads to much conflict of emotion when G-Man has to oversee the cascade and is the one to destroy Black Mesa. This story eventually turns into the most depressing of my AUs. Dusk is left emotionally scarred by all that happens; but G loves her and decides eventually to put her into stasis where he manipulates her to live in a dream state with him back before the cascade. Nearing the time coming up to HL2 G-Man can’t take it anymore and wakes her from stasis. Relationship Vibe: Tragic love story. Office romance.

Masc Human Dusk – The Personal Assistant – G-Man’s pet human?

Name: Emmet Scythe. ‘Dusk’ is a nickname G-Man gives him; even though Emmet has no idea why.

This AU is vastly different from any of the others. It’s more based on the fact G-Man was originally the Administrator of Black Mesa (before it was retconned with Breen in HL2… so… sorry Breen fans… he’s not around in this universe). Emmet is the PA of G who is the obviously-not-human administrator of Black Mesa. He has to deal with a lot of… unusual things, including but not limited to keeping his boss’s identity as a eldritch being of great power a secret. You can probably guess this leads to many… interesting scenarios. So why doesn’t Emmet quit? Simple. He’s infatuated by G-Man… and G knows it. I think eventually this would go into more of a beta HL2 timeline after the HL1 events. But I just really like the Black Mesa setting for this one. Relationship Vibe: Higher entity messing with a human; G does generally have a love for Emmet though. Boss and employee love affair.

Masc Eldritch Dusk – The Operative – G-Man’s Husband

Name: Same as Fem Eldritch Dusk, except he is not an ‘Agent’, he is an ‘Operative’.

Designation: Dusk

Name: N/A (Herald of the Endless Dark)

Titles: Agent/The Government Woman/G-Woman

Species: Carcosian (Eldritch/Cosmic Horror)

Age: Ancient (Appears late 30s - early 40s in Human Form)

Identity: Woman (She/Her)

Height: 5’8’’

Sexuality: Pansexual

Hair: Silver

Eyes: Grey

Voice: British accent, unusual cadence and inflections, sounds cold or sarcastic toward all but her husband and good friends.

Style: Corporate. Black suit and tie, usually with a pencil skirt but will sometimes wear slacks. Wears black jewellery and dark makeup. Hair is usually in a bun.

Relationships: G-Man (husband), Agent Q (friend)

Occupation: Interdimensional Bureaucrat/Agent of the Bureau

Residence: The Bureau, Carcosa

Personality Traits: Devoted wife, bureaucratic, highly intelligent, quick to anger, can be quite emotional, hates the Combine, somewhat vain.

Goals: Her goals are her husbands; all she does she does for him and him alone.

Powers: Energy manipulation, telekinesis, telepathy, interdimensional travel, mortal mind manipulation, time travel, time manipulation. Also has latent powers related to the primordial dark. If she uses her powers in excess the surrounding location will become monochromatic. She is NOT as powerful as G-Man.

History: Dusk has spent a lot of her eternal existence rising through the ranks of the Bureau. Her life has been full of betrayals in love and work; and so she became quite distant from others. She had one true friend who did wish to help her, but he one day disappeared and she believed it to be just another betrayal. It was some time after this she was chosen to assist G-Man on his mission at Black Mesa. The truly ancient history of the Bureau has been supressed from the collective memories of all Carcosians, except for the CEO. It is unknown why. So she cannot recall anything from before a certain point in the primordial universe.

Bio: Dusk is a fellow agent of the Bureau that fell in love with G-Man while working with him at Black Mesa before the resonance cascade. Both were there to oversee the events leading up to the ‘catalyst event’ of that particular timeline. They were posing as humans during this time and got married (eternal bond) before the cascade happened. She and G-Man later find out that certain members of the Board had ulterior motives which leads into a story of love, corruption, cosmic horror and political intrigue. And of course, there’s also G-Man’s own schemes at work.

Also... G-Man is beautiful and perfect and wonderful and I love him. 🥰
