Send me a character and I will tell you my:
I can’t remember my exact first impression of Link since I was pretty young when I got into Zelda, but I remember I loved him when I was a kid. I used to wish for him to be real so we could be friends.
I also love him now. Probably less since I’m into other things too, but still. Especially versions of Link with a lot of personality like Skyward Sword Link or Wind Waker Link.
In the fight against Armogohma in Twilight Princess where he dramatically flourishes his sword away after beating her and then gets a horrified look on his face when she turns into just a skittering eyeball. I love that.
I’ve had an idea for a modern fantasy AU with Link for a while. Still in the whole timeline. Link is some sort of... dude with a woodcarving business who has a horse and doesn’t really know how to talk to people. The real Master Sword is a museum piece so the goddesses pull a guide for Link out of the computer data of a historical game of Skyward Sword hoping to get Fi and get Ghirahim instead. Don’t 100% know where it would go from there, but there you go.
Skyward Sword Link is one of the best Links. I don’t know if that’s unpopular but there you go.
Link and Ghirahim have an interesting yin yang relationship in canon. They’re both essentially living out the same life and the same choices on opposite sides of the battlefield. They’re both doing everything for a higher power, doing whatever it takes to keep that higher power safe and thwart their opponent. Ghirahim is journeying to find the same things Link is. Neither one actually kills the other. I just like that dynamic a lot.
Majora’s Mask Link has some sort of anxiety developed from when he was the Hero of Time.
