Guilty Cubicles by Broken Social Scene
Before 2002′s epochal You Forgot It In People, before they were the posterchildren of Canadian indiepop and one of the standard-bearers of modern indiepop in general, BSS was more of an experimental ambient collective crafting dreamy, meandering, sometimes groovy instrumentals. Kevin Drew and Brendan Canning hadn’t come into their own, Feist wasn’t yet a thing if you can believe that, and I was floating through Monday with this peaceful ditty. Ahhhh. Lovely.
So took the time tonight to figure out my favorite Broken Social Scene song. It’s not perfect but I’m happy with it.
