So, today was an interesting day, to say the very least. My group of friends (Carli, Steve, and me) all got together with our families to have dinner. To spare you from the details, diary, I’ll just say this: it did not go as planned. I don’t think any of us knew what we were expecting, but what we got was a very loud dinner, some tears, and lots and lots of tension. I honestly can’t remember if we even ate! I’d met all of the Prescotts before, but this was actually the first time I ever met Mr. and Mrs. Harrington. I won’t lie to you, diary, I’m a little scared of them. Especially his dad. Dads like Mr. Prescott seem pretty cool, but dads like Mr. Harrington are very terrifying. It makes me wonder what kind of dad mine would have been.

All of that aside, something has been bugging me. Steve is so full of love. Really, he is… I don’t know if he’d ever admit it, but I know he is. So it makes me so sad that he doesn’t get that same love returned to him at home. I could tell so easily when I saw how his parents treated him at dinner. I don’t know what I’d do without my mom and her support, and I know Carli feels the same about her parents. 

Diary, you hear my complaining about the world being unfair all the time, but things like this happen and I can’t help but to want to write it again: the world is so unfair! Steve is one of my best friends in this whole world, and I just want the best for him. I’m glad he has Carli and me, and our families. We love and appreciate him and we always will!
