Nancy gathered her books and moved over to where Tommy was sitting in their chemistry class.  “Please tell me you are going to take this project seriously?  I really can’t afford to do poorly in this class.”

HANDS TIGHTEN OVER BOOKS, looking at words on papers and titles on books. Consider it a task for grounding herself on days like this. The days where the past haunts her, and truth mixes with guilt and regret making something else all together. Eyes turned off the CROWDED hallway, she slows her pace before she feels her shoulder BOUNCE back from the force of her colliding partly with someone else in the halls. Startled blues look up to the boy who she knew just barely once upon a time. Now she mostly chooses to stay away, for Steve but also beause she never cared for his crude words and actions.
