Very few pieces of art in this world have struck a chord with me and made me stop, stare and think. Â
Karl Haendel - Questions For my Father, which I saw at the Guggenheim museum in New York last year is one of them.
Very few people know about the disappointing relationship I have with my father. It is not something that I will freely talk about to anyone else other than close friends.Â
I saw Haendel's work at an emotional moment in my life (for reasons unrelated to my father) which took me back to the root of all the issues my dad and I have still outstanding.Â
After all, isn't what modern "art" is about? Invoking the audience's emotions.
A job well done.
