Amsterdam, the city of tulips and weed. Didn’t do either. We made a short trip there last weekend and here’s some pics.
We stayed at Good Hotel. It was good and simple. And they do good: offering opportunity for the unemployed in Amsterdam, helping build a high school to underprivileged children in Guatemala and developing recreational projects for the kids of Rio de Janeiro’s favelas. More about their projects here. The year 2015 is a pop-up year. Then the hotel is shipped (yes - really shipped) to Rio de Janeiro.
The main purpose of our trip was the Amsterdam International Art Fair. The vernissage was on Friday.
We got a tip from one of our friends (kiitos Sami) for this great seafood restaurant called nothing more than The Seafood Bar. There are two locations. We had dinner at the one in Spui disctrict. I had that beautiful French style mussel pan “cooked in white wine with garlic and cream”. There is nothing more a girl like me could ask.
The Amsterdam facades are weird. Something in this pictures smells like a con:
Lads enjoying each other’s company and trappist.
Nice and oblique.
I googled brunch spots and we ended up in Gs West just to have those amazing eggs benedict interpretations. Highly recommended.
Just look at it.
On Saturday I had some time alone to hang around the city. I had coffee at KOKO Coffee & Design. It was a nice and cosy little café & shop (design & fashion) with super nice staff and expert-good coffee right opposite of the Hash Marihuana & Hemp museum (I bet that museum is a very veeeery boring and slow :D ).
Yep. I am a tourist too. I thought I mentioned that?
Thank you and good night.
