Hello 👋 it's just popped into my head after your latest page, is Loss meant to have the skull of both a stag and a doe? I see one side is missing an antler, but also the pedicle that it would have grown from. Are all of the gods meant to be gender/sexless or is this a choice specifically for Loss? It has such a cool design and I'm so glad to have noticed that detail.
Yes! Most misgender Loss as male because of the antler, but it's also important to notice that it Doesn't Have an Antler, nor the seat for it.
Assigning gender/sex to gods is a concept I've never really vibed with, so I think all of them, including Karuna, are both nothing and everything and they absolutely don't care. But some are assigned genders by the deerkind. Karuna is a male because of his antlers + patriarchy being the norm for the world. Eve is a female because she's the birth of life. War is a male because a rutting buck is off the rails (instinctive rut isn't really a thing in GS but it covers the manly violence). Loss is genderless because death especially is seen as a thing, more than a being.
