Hey there's a Tumblr blog that's straight up stealing art and posting it without credit and they used one of your Iron Lung posts. The user is de-ja-vo-loo. Thought you should be aware of it
Oh yes I am very aware of De-ja-vo-loo/de-ja-vi-loo. They have been reported but they have also stolen more than just my work. The have stole MULTIPLE artists' work for bloodymary, by simply copy and pasting the caption and taking a single picture from the post.
I HAVE ASKED for my work to be taken down to no avail. THUS I have blocked them.
Now these artists are also aware, even though the account has deleted comments of people whom have tried to give credit to the proper artists.
They seem to target artists who don't sign their work, which is also how they can get around the copyright situation. HOWEVER I sign my work. I put secret signatures in my sketches 99% of the time now. Due to reposting.
TIP for artists in general is to do that, though I am SUPER paranoid! Personally I think this is a bot account made by someone with how empty and hollow it is. SO be sure to report that.

Can I ask what the drama was in the fhr community?? I’ve been passively in the community for years, but I don’t really pay attention to much beyond the stories, interacting with others is a bit too intimidating. Like I’m in the discord but never leave really leave the channels that talk about lore and I def don’t speak. I keep seeing it mentioned but never really got any details. Sorry if you don’t want to talk about it, feel free to ignore me. I hope you have a nice day/night!
I've been debating on answering this. Cause I would like to push forward, and I did talk A LOT about it the other day and it kinda left me exhausted.
But it was a lesson for me about fandoms that left me grizzled and gained "wisdom". Now to be blunt I cannot give you in depth details of who is who, it's been 5 years. But I can summarize then never talk about it again.

Prior to the release of Book 2 of FHR, Malin had made a discord. (not sure if its the same one you're in anon.) Did not put proper boundaries for themselves and their fans/community. From my personal experience, Malin got caught up in the high of "wow people LIKE what I made." And was making friends with all these artists, including myself. However one of these "friends" was in fact, a predator. Who used the discord for their own means, they were very into shipping children with adults, and LOVED the idea of Herald (who was NOT an option prior) being romancable. And Malin let this person influence the second book heavily.
The bigger drama though is when people, including a minor who was a victim to said predator, spoke up, there was a gaslighting campaign and harassment. Malin was not part of it, but instead of doing something, there was... Nothing. They LET this person stay in the community. The discord team was kicking people, there was rumors and people here on tumblr were sent hate. And Malin did not speak up. UNTIL the hate came for them.
Then they made a post, an apology was made to the community... kinda? They spoke mostly of the harassment and proceeded to say they were stepping away from tumblr. They were taking a break. I remember I reached out, to ask what was up. And was met by a message from their partner at the time saying Malin is stepping back from social media.
There was outrage, I don't know what happened to the minor, I hope they are okay. I don't know if the discord was rebuilt. I do know my friends were hurt and angry at the time. As was I. When an author allows that behavior, REWARDS that behavior in their next book, it fills me with disgust. And shame that I considered them a friend but we press on. You recover.
I never heard from Malin since then. And I don't think they ever addressed incident again? I stepped away with the fandom along with my group of friends who are all beautifully talented people. And just dipping my toe back in to see whats going on now.
Anyway if you read all this. I don't wanna talk about it more, trying to move forward. LAST time I am gonna talk about this further.

To clarify, I'm not telling you that stories and author are perfect and amazing, I have many many issues with them as well, and am on anon and don't post my own fan content largely because of it. Just that the impact that you have on the world by enjoying your slice of it isn't detrimental enough to beat yourself up about. We're not talking JKR. Thanks for taking it in good faith. And ragging on the harold romance and instigator because for the love of god we did not need that.
Yeah true, we aren't talking about a person who actively wants trans people, specifically trans women, not to exist. Malin is bad for not being accountable and not... Whatever they made mistakes. And honestly I could rag on the herald shit all day. I know HOW it happened which is wild thinking about it now, and I'm like... Okay creators should listen to their audiences but not to where they can control projects.
What I will say, drawing fhr today, drawing Crimm and Blight felt good. And I missed my big bad villain a lot. But I may take up just keeping it to myself and be gentle. hopefully. No worries anon, I know you mean well, and I do appreciate you doing so.

Indie and queer and particularly simultaneously indie and queer spaces tend to be held to an exponentially higher standard than anything considered 'normal'. It'd be kind to yourself and those communities as a whole to give yourself space to just. Enjoy it and not flagellate yourself for it. Even if it's not perfect. I know the public aspect of the f*r fallout and while that was a mess, it's absolutely nothing in comparison to something as simple as using gmail or shopping at walmart.
If I'm reading this right, you're telling me to give myself grace which is solid advice. I know there are worse things than Fhr. The story itself is one I never went before, I never at the time had a safe queer space or really start the ideas. Crimm was my first trans character, and for someone afraid to be out, he was a comfort. But going back to what I was saying, yes there are worse things, worse novels, worse companies, worse browsers.
But I was there. In the fallout. And I had been friends with Malin. Malin was someone who encouraged me to try, to push new ideas, they were a friend. But then I had other friends as well, other artists who were hurt, who were harassed. And the fact remains that the person, the pedophile mind you, influenced the second book so much, they are the reason why you can romance Herald.
I do feel great shame posting anything FHR, because of who wrote it, and MY friends were hurt. And I could do nothing. And I hate feeling that way. I do wish to move on, I think 5 years it's been a good time to be apart from it. To reread, but I know I can NEVER touch the second book.
Anyway I do appreciate you Anon, I get what you're trying to say. Hopefully I do. Being kind is good but also being aware is needed. Things have changed, and people will be in the FHR unaware of what happened.
