Bess and Egidius often go out together to paint elements of nature, to practice their artistic skills and stay active; They both enjoy each other's company and help each other in every way.

But perhaps the most difficult task for Bess is trying to make her talented partner KEEP CALM AND BE PATIENCE, because Egidius is too grumpy, anxious, extremely demanding of himself and so obsessed with PERFECTION, that more than once he ends up destroying his own painting.

"Dear Egidius, never get mad at yourself, just do your best and do things ENJOYING YOUR TALENT; don't be so hard on yourself, I love you very much and I like you just the way you are", says Bess, and gives him a big hug and a big kiss.

WHY EGIDIUS “IS” EGIDIUS

It is common to see the flower restorer fairies working alongside the garden fairies; the UNUSUAL thing is to work with Egidius, because of his grumpy character; Lilly and Bluebell have asked him to draw water from the well so they can water the plants in their gardens.

But the rope of the well is quite hard and it takes a lot of effort, which exploits the character of this sparrow man, who takes it as something "personal" (as if the well THINKS for itself and wants to make it difficult to make fun of him).

Lilly says to him: "Do not be angry with the well, the well is not making fun of you; if you want we can help you both"; but Egidius is STUBBORN and refuses to be helped, getting more tired, more angry and unable to draw water to his friends.

In the end, both fairies convince him to let them help him and between the three of them they manage to get the water they need.
