Alright so it seems that all of Los Angeles had a influx of fireworks this Fourth of July. At first I thought it was just my neighborhood. But let's be honest even if everyone had the same celebration for us in South Los Angeles there is, few better a celebration than, the ones you can enjoy from your stoop, or right out the window. Last weekend for the first time in a long time Independence Day meant a whole lot to us. We have had July 4ths on our own but they were always on the streets homeless without family. Alone but not independent. This Independence Day we had housing, we have our family (despite distance), we have our health, and we are autonomous. Regardless of any judgement one may have about it we are free and realizing ourselves and thusly, independent & joyous. This year the celebration of independence was so so powerful and right at home for some many of us in a neighborhood full of amazing and regular people. Just because good people do not alway have time or reason to convince everyone doesn't mean there ain't a lot of good out here. #GRsuperstarz Deep respect on @snoopdogg & @thegame & #southlosangeles Thank you for standing strong in support of moral understanding and social responsibility.
