In this workshop, we will propose investigations of our physical bodies in relation to overlapping ecologies. Considering the parallels between our bodies and the bodies of naturally occurring structures, as well as in contrast to our manufactured world, we will reframe how we interact with our environment. What can we learn about movement from observation of the world outside the dance studio? Can we extend our dancing bodies spatially and in longevity? Part one of this series will include an indoor internal movement exploration, we will go outdoors for site-specific and sensory research (rain or shine, so please bring rain gear if needed!), and we will conclude with an open improvisation to process our findings.
